Lol exactly this. I've fallen for it time and time again. I know we all have. He who shall not be named was the king of offseason hype and we bit time and time again.

Obviously though, I think we all have more confidence this go around. But I still have some nerves because we've been the battered significant other in a dysfunctional relationship for the last 15 years.

I'm trying to stay levelheaded with a 9 win regular season being the ceiling for me. But I know that'll go out the window and I'll be on the 12-0 bandwagon once I read the:

"For those concerned about Gattis and Mario running a conservative offense...don't be...they're going to let TVD cook"
or
"This ain't the ol' Miami defense we've been used to over the last 5 years...Steele has these kids locked in playing technically sound football...no more 600 yards rushing games against us"

I'm excited for Miami football every year no doubt, this year though is a different kind of excitement. I soured on Manuela after the FIU loss. So regardless of the excitement I was able to temper expectations. I can't temper Sh*t this year. Mario has me ready to turn all the way up lol
 
Will look back one day and see what a kindergarten show we ran for the last 2 decades... how cheapskate, pathetic vision led to the worst hires at every tier of this athletic program... amount of $$$ wasted by doing so

I agree. This year is obviously extremely different. I soured Manny the second they hired him

Recent rules for bygone eras when players didn’t work out in the spring/summer and needed to get their bodies acclimated. Seems pretty silly considering that every single D1 athlete is working out all off season. And if they aren’t that should be on them.

I’d still like to read the real story behind that miserable FIU collapse. I keep reading that Jarren broke curfew the night before but there has to be more to it than that…Actually the whole end of that season was a catastrophe…
