The defense finally watched enough film to realize we only run between the tackles and it got a lot easier to defend.

If our running game was easy to defend, why were we top five in rushing efficiency (with more than 50% of offensive snaps going to designed runs) last year? Did DCs just forget how to defend against simple runs when they played us?

Our secondary doesn’t exactly suck anymore - at least from what we are being led to believe - so I think it may be fair to start recalibrating our expectations of how impactful a player Toney could be, even as a true frosh that should still be in HS.

I also think many have undersold the importance an addition Bauman was. Kid was a very good G5 TE the past couple of seasons for Tulane

If he is money in the RZ as a target that Beck trusts then that will be a big deal re: finishing drives with TDs and leaving the sus field goal kicking out of the equation.

When both units are good the typical result is the run game gets stuffed and the QBs have to make plays or else you get a low scoring ugly game like that whole era of Les Miles LSU v Saban Bama big games.

The QBs, WRs, RBs, TEs, OL, DL, LBs, CBs and safeties all look good.

Yes. We brought in a fifth-year senior white walk-on WR who had never caught a pass to simulate the biggest pressure point of last year's defense.
