Fall Camp 2025 PractiSe 1- July 31st

That's all well and good, man, but I'm currently scheduled to go to that game. And, that's the type of stuff a Miami football team cannot overcome. If I travel to watch them, it's absolutely necessary for the worst outcome to occur. If we're 7-0 headed into that game, I may lock myself in my house.
If we're 7-0 going into that game, I will lock you in your house!

That is our biggest potential weakness. We must stay healthy.

Yes...but I think you can make this exact same statement, about the exact same position group, for about 99% of the teams in CFB this year. NIL has spread talent out more than ever. The fact some pundits have Clemson picked to win the whole **** thing this year tells you how wide open this upcoming season is. There's legitimately 7-8 different teams who I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up winning the natty.

Oh I agree with you 100%. I was just stating what our teams weakness happens to be. You are absolutely correct about how wide open this season is and that's why it really wouldn't shock me if we ended up winning the natty provided that we managed to make the playoff. We have the necessary ingredients. We have the QB, the OL, DL and Secondary plus depth at RB and plenty of weapons in the passing game.

Might be our last chance to visit Lane.

I will be curious to see if Emory goes in first should Beck go out for any reason. Maybe it's a big lead...... According to Ferman & Shodell, Nickel is right there with Emory. They are big Emory fans - think he got a raw deal in the bowl game in terms of being prepared, guys he had to play with etc. They did admit that Nickel has really come on since the end of spring and is right there with him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see EMory be QB2 since mario and Dawson talked him into staying. If he goes in and has a repeat of the bowl game, we likely won't see him again....
So those clowns are saying Emory didn't attend the same bowl practice preparations as Cam. This is an actual game so you always have to be ready as the backup. The problem for Emory is he's just not that good.

Nickel has passed him.

Everyone knew our Secondary was awful and they could kill us through the air. Why even waste time running?
This. People don’t truly appreciate how bad we were and the level of athlete we had. Meesh Powell was our best safety and he was just ok but brought no physicality. Our best corner was a true frosh. Jaden Harris was yikes. Porter seemed to regress but maybe never was actually that good.

We don’t remember it well cause we won the game but we almost lost to vt on a Hail Mary twice. That white kid that played well against us (26? Maybe) caught an almost touchdown but was out of bounds. Then we got lucky on the real Hail Mary. Just insane.

Pete said this morning Emory had his helmet on the floor and Beck told him to pick it up…

The lies that were told about that young man for months is sad to see. Buddy is locked in
this is his shot. hes coming in here with one thing in mind like cam did last year - get to the league at the highest position possible. this is essentially an NFL QB doing a prep year

Canes United has a huge block coming in section 234.

Not the best seats but think they'll have about 150. The school usually gets and sells in the section right beside that.
Anyone interested in going should lock in a hotel now... I locked mine in 2 weeks ago and had to book an hour away b/c everything in Blacksburg was going for $500+ a night with a 2 night minimum. Hopefully some of these people start cancelling their rooms and I can move to a closer hotel, but I am not paying that kind of money to stay in Blacksburg.

Luckily I don't live far. We'll make the 2.5 hour drive the morning of.

Nice. I am in DC - I would like to have time to tailgate if it is a early game and rather not drive back 5 hours afterwards if it is a night game.

It's also the weekend before Thanksgiving. One of my coworkers is a die hard VT fan and pointed out that if VT is doing well the students will stick around and it will likely be rocking, but if they aren't having a good season a lot of them will likely leave town early.
The expectations over there are anywhere between 5-7 to 7-5. Their board can be described as a slightly upbeat wake.

I always just stay in Roanoke because it’s also where the airport is

Blacksburg is a Saturday game but point still stands. Pry probably fired before we play them as well. If they’re struggling and he’s still coach, their fans won’t show up like they usually do.

Bigger question would be if he’s already fired, do they derail or do they start turning it around? Could go either way.
they broke they aint gonna fire him just yet.

They are just like us maybe worse in they made no commitment to their football program money wise whatsoever.

they recently just redone some stuff athletiallys o i know they gonna be cheap about it and i think he is alumni.

This is the real story of the ACC and why we need out. While the SEC and BIG spent the past 20 years investing in football and sports, the ACC lagged behind. BC, Cuse, Pitt, Va Tech, Miami ... there were some storied football teams "in the day". Now we're the only one of that group willing to catch up, and I only see broke-assed us, FSU, Clemson and very recently UNC (though I think that's not going to end well) even trying. Arguably SMU making a play, too.

If there were even half of the 17 stepping up, the conference might be worth saving. But it's a zombie as constituted.
