Fall Camp 2025 PractiSe 1- July 31st

Been to all of them at VT since 1999 except for 2014 and 2016. It’s not what it used to be at Lane Stadium (because they’ve fallen off).

It was inexplicably quiet in 2022 and we got off to a hot start and it was silent. They squeaked back in late and it got some juice in the stadium but nothing like some of them I went to in the 2004-2012 time frame.

VT is a dying program.

Agreed. I don’t think Pry survives the year.

I’ve never been to Lane and obviously need to make the trek. If it’s looking tasty this year I might have to make it happen.

****… I wanted to go to VT this year for the atmosphere

until you see something different? You didn’t see any rb run for 180 last year. You do know only 1 rb rushed for over 100 yards the whole season vs the defense right? That was tuten from vt. No other back went over 100
Everyone knew our Secondary was awful and they could kill us through the air. Why even waste time running?

I was at Blacksburg in 2001

that was back when the Chokies were coming off a #1 ranked season in 2000 before we finally beat them with Mike Vick.

last game of the year.

Canes needed a dropped two point conversion to escape with a win.
I was there too... that is when the Hokies fans were cool. After the game several of the fans wished us luck in the Rose Bowl and no one gave us ****. Went back to the next game in Blacksburg 2 years later and it was like a switch had been flipped... their fans had become giant aholes.

By no means is it a bad atmosphere. It used to be top 10 in the country and now it’s more like 20-25. Still a good one to experience.

The night games are still electric but for my sake (and the Canes) I can’t handle the cold anymore so I hope it’s a noon kick in late November.

When VT was top 5 and even top 15-20 that place rivaled LSU, Clemson, PSU, game day atmosphere. Now it’s more like an NCST (underrated btw). They’re missing a new generation of fans to keep the energy alive, the majority are ones that came during the Vick days and are now older and more mellow. Same thing happening to the Canes, except our fans are not mellow at all, even older. But we do need to win and juice up a new generation of younger fans.

Blacksburg is a Saturday game but point still stands. Pry probably fired before we play them as well. If they’re struggling and he’s still coach, their fans won’t show up like they usually do.

Bigger question would be if he’s already fired, do they derail or do they start turning it around? Could go either way.
It's also the weekend before Thanksgiving. One of my coworkers is a die hard VT fan and pointed out that if VT is doing well the students will stick around and it will likely be rocking, but if they aren't having a good season a lot of them will likely leave town early.

I’ve been to PSU for white out games against Michigan. Been to OSU. Some big games back in the day in Miami etc

That **** in Blacksburg during Enter Sandman is some other ****. The Sandstorm thing in South Carolina is criminally underrated vibe as well
Believe we there next year.

Get off his 🍆
Lol can’t express an opinion around here without the idiots thinking I’m **** riding the guy. Idk if you know this but he’s a really good rb and the defense will have their hands full with their OL and Love.

The guy is a great college back no doubt but saying he's gonna run for a total he's never hit in college against us is indeed Elite level **** Riding but you do you.

I said he might….there’s a difference. He averaged 6.9 yards a carry last year and ran for over 1100 yards and he only exceeded 15 touches once. They have a new qb and will feature Love more. Yes I know Miami’s defense has changed with a new DC and heavy on the portal.
