Fall Ball

There was a scrimmage today

4 innings.

Kayden Payne 2 Innings
Ty Van Valkenberg 2 Innings

Trenton Rasmey 2 Innings
Ivan Sabater 2 Innings
Do we know anything about losing pitcher Peralta??? Did he dip out or we let him go???

4 innings today. I believe I was only there for the first 2 innings.

Andrew Gette & Daniel Lopez both threw 2 innings. Both gave up a HR

Alonzo Alvarez and Fabio Peralta were the two HR hitters. Both look really, really good. Fabio is massive. Zo had two pickoffs as well.

You also saw Sebastian Santos-Olson throw an inning.

4 innings today:
-Menendez (2), Horwat (2), Ciscar (1), Ensell (1), Morningstar (1), Hutto (1)
-Frank struggled with command (two walks and two HBP in his first inning)
-Ensell had a rough one (no outs recorded in the max five batters)
-AJ struck out the side
-The other three broadly pitched well
-Milano was playing first and nearly muscled one out after getting jammed
-The catchers were 1 for 4 on ABS challenges (Alvarez was right)
-If you have chairbacks, they’re getting replaced and the new ones are quite comfy

Wasn’t really a lot of hitting to speak of. The pitchers largely got themselves into trouble with walks and HBPs. The only extra base hit I remember was from Kitura, and that was a bloop that fell in along the left field line.

How did Morningstar look - does he have Friday starter stuff?

Four innings before the lightning sensors went off, and I didn’t hang around to see if they resumed:
-Pitchers (2 innings each): Ciscar, Morningstar, Horwat, and Menendez. Ensell and Hutto were due to be the last pair
-Ciscar wasn’t quite as dominant as last week (striking out the side is a high bar). One hit allowed in two innings. Pretty classic AJ: throw strikes and pitch to contact.
-Morningstar was heading towards a very strong outing until a Kitura two out error (weakly hit and bounced what would have been a great play). Morningstar proceeded to hit or walk the next three batters to end his day.
-Horwat worked around some base runners. Sold overall.
-Frank was still battling his command, but was stronger in the second inning of work. The stuff is there if he can keep it around the zone.
-Kitura and Vega both singled. I’m blanking on who doubled.
-Feels like the defense is improved from last year. The errors I’ve seen so far are pretty run of the mill compared to what was happening last fall.
