Fall Ball: Day 2 10/11/25

QUICK NOTES FROM SCRIMMAGE:

- Multiple arms took a step up, namely Lazaro Collera. Lachi sat consistently in 95-97 range and the ball exploded out of his hand. Looks like the staff have made mechanical changes especially with his setup --- Gets into his legs more.

- Another explosive arm was DeRias, although he struggled more with command. 95 consistently.

-Milano continues to have that "It" factor, aggressive and confident swings in the box

- Seven guys were picked off, and most of them weren't close. Has to be cleaned up

- Copeland & Sosa oppo homers, both quality swings

- I continue to love Ryan Bilka, wicked offspeeds with 95 definitely plays. I also love how his misses arent over the plate, really works around the zone.

- A couple other standout freshmen, Donovan Jeffery and Dylan Dubovik. Both had nice oppo barrels for extra bases

- There is legit depth across the board, will make for some interesting position battles and cut watches.

- The rotation continues to be murky, multiple guys who can move into the pen and vice versa. Good problem to have at this stage

And on the first two points, I think the stuff is much more interesting than the execution at this point in the fall. It feels like how good (and important) DeRias was for us down the stretch in the ACC has gotten lost a little bit in the Southern Miss start.
