Firing Richt. They were a blown cover away from a title. UM is now mired in continued mediocrity with Richt's hire. UM is 5-6 in their last 11 games, out of the top 25, paying good money for inexperienced coaches to learn on the job.

Miami isn't dumb...they just couldn't get anyone better.

That isnt to say they don't think outside of the box...but just think of the names floating around for the Miami job...Richt, Charlie Strong, Cristobal, Butch Davis, Greg Schiano. Dan Mullen was also interested and probably would have been the smart hire, but who knows if he was a reasonable, realistic get or if he was just using Miami for a raise (which he did get).

I still think Dino Babers would have killed it here, but it is what it is.

* Fact the SEC east has been trash ever since Kirby Smart took the job soon as they play a legit SEC west they get Stomped by LSU same result as Miami.
 
People are going to tell you they are lucky and Smart is only winning because he has Richt's players lol.

This is comical...

1. Richt stopped consistently winning the SEC East once Meyer came into the picture.

- Before Meyer (2001-2004), he won the SEC East 50% of the time.
- After Meyer (2005-2010), he won the SEC East 33% of the time (Meyer won it 50% of the time)

2. Richt again won the SEC East in 2011 and 2012 but keep in mind Meyer left in 2010.

3. Here is Richt's record against other SEC Rivals

Against UF:

2001: Spurrier 0-1
2002-04: Zook 1-2
2005-10: Meyer 1-5
2011-15: Muschump 3-1

Against LSU:

2001-04: Saban 1-1 (Doesn't play against LSU in 2001 and 2002)
2005-15: Miles 3-2 (Doesn't play against LSU in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015)

Alabama

2001-02: Franchione 1-0 (Doesn't play against Bama in 2001)

There is a bigger issue. The reason our program hasn't had a truly relevant season since 2003 is because they're involved.

They should bring in a competent, passionate AD to have autonomy.

Instead they prefer self-inflicted cancer.

Who cares? They fired Richt and they're not upset about it. The only UGA fan upset is that potato Dawgcane.

The East has been garbage for a long time...including when Richt was there.

His last three seasons saw Missouri win the division in back-to-back seasons and then Shark Humper win it in his first try (after beating Richt 27-3 in a game that wasn't even that close).

The university put itself on probation the last 15 yrs with the coaches we've hired.that's worse than any penalty the ncaa can dish out.our talent was so depleted it actually is showing itself now with the oline and qb situation.when we get a new hc it will still take him 2-3 years to develop a decent oline

Yeah and Kirby lost 24 - 10 the next year to Florida as well. Mizzou was a very good team when they won the East those years... non of the teams in the East this year are as good as Mizzou was then including Kentucky.

UGa would cake walk through the East this year with Richt
