Was Saban so special at Michigan State? I never had this impression of such a great coach until he won an NC at LSU.
 
Thank goodness this thread was created to confirm once again that Saban is a better coach than Richt. Also enjoyed all of the new, never before discussed reasons why.

Hopefully tomorrow someone will create one for Urban Meyer so some of you can copy and paste your posts and just edit the name.

And the school itself doesn't give a ****, they are all in on athletics. No school worth a **** would take these people, but Alabama will. Why? Because it's the kind of place that only has that one thing to hang their hat on.
 
Saban has found a loophole in the NCAA rules with his consultant thing which he is running into the ground bringing in every coach available who might give him an edge. It's basically cheating & the NCAA needs to FIX IT and soon. Yes, other teams have "quality control & consultant" coaches (cough, cough oh they're not really coaches) but it has run amok in hick town Tuscaloosa.

He doesn't get away with that because he's a winner, he gets away with it because he's saban. He's spent a decade building an unassailable reputation. Until he gets caught red-handed molesting children, he'll be able to do any **** thing he wants. And it doesn't hurt that he's got all the money in the world.

Miami is the exact opposite. If we touched any of those guys, we're right back to being thugs and degenerates.

Too be fair though in terms of Durkin, he can go kick rocks. Guys like Sarkisian had their own personal struggles and I don't mind throwing those guys a life line. But Durkin ran his program to the point it cost a player his life. I'm okay with Durkin never getting another shot in college.

anyone who has had the success that man has had and can win a national championship with two different teams deserves respect.

Places like Texas,Notre Dame,Usc and several others have the same or better resources to use but don't get the same from their product on the field like saban has and bad thing is he's not done getting more accomplishments.

I read that is what they paid Butch Jones from Tenn. while he was there. not sure about the others, just assuming they are getting about the same. Money is not the issue, it is the chance to work for Saban and get their careers back on track.
