Kid looks a little taller than 6’3”. I love that Mario, Coach Lew and JT are aiming at some big dogs. I haven’t been this locked in and excited about recruiting since the ‘07 MNW class. On paper that one was amazing.

I became a fan right around then; started following recruiting when my HS played Norland & Duke Johnson back to back years as they were in our district.

The energy around the program is unmatched as far as my time as a fan although I remember feeling really good at other points throughout this purgatory-escape.

How was it playing against Duke??? I can’t imagine trying to lay a hand on that dude in high school. He was filthy.

Thankfully I didn’t have to deal with that :roll-canes2:

I was a freshman (Duke and Flowers were juniors) and our football HC resigned after our program’s best season ever because we had gotten new principals / administration; there was a budgetary problem long story short.

The whole energy within the school shifted so quickly once the HC resigned, dudes started transferring out, and our team was trash the years after that. I was always a hooper & track guy anyways so never bothered to play football afterwards. Anyways:

We (my school) played them **** well; lost 27 to 23. Friends told me he was everything you could imagine but they also felt like they could beat Norland given the circumstances. Our linebackers were dawgs and our DTs were stronger than pretty much everyone they went against. Our best DB was Bryant-Gross Armiento, current cornerbacks coach at Texas A&M, and he was lightning fast too & could hit.

Duke was incredible but they didn’t feel like he could beat them by himself. The comparison he was getting was Chris Johnson from the Titans; another was Reggie Bush because of his receiving abilities. Dude was a blur. He’s one of the reasons why I love RBs like Pringle.

Had friends who did end up playing against Dalvin Cook; i watched him play from the stands & he just had the most video-game esque acceleration more so than top speed (which was elite as well but HS Duke was more agile and straight line-faster) and pure power combo I’ve ever seen.

If that really is a Virginia Tech bus patked in the 305 outsides the families hotel widow, James Franklin is wild for that and is gonna be a problem moving forward.🤣🤣🤣

Go Canes
Thank you for peeping this because it is…..surprised everyone just skipped past that :roll-canes2: :roll-canes2:

However, this isn’t just any ol recruit for Franklin and VT; this is a double legacy and the father is in the VT HOF. Major first battle for him.

So I don’t suspect this will be a frequent occurrence however I know Franklin is going to get VT right & they are putting much more resources behind his rebuild.

Yeah i have no worries about any program out there atm. We are at the frontier of CFB.

The only guys that catch my eye are IU & they are beatable and haven’t proved they can sustain themselves quite yet

I loved him at UM, he went there and put on when it wasn’t the fashionable thing to do. I’m a long suffering Browns fan by geographical default, so I was thrilled when he got to Cleveland, although I hated seeing him on such bad teams.

he’s mad cool too. ive talked to him a couple times. i hadn’t thought about it before however Mali reminds me a lot of Duke

as far as being a Browns fan, I’m praying from you lmao. i was a Vick-falcons fan, took the dolphins on for a spin (kicked that narcotic), and now am a super casual Bucs fan + whoever has a UMiami player on their team.

Real fandom can be a painful endeavor. Anything outside Miami ‘Canes and Heat might cause me to be institutionalized.
