Explain this to me

Richt didn't just forget how to coach. It's been a slow, gradual decline. Don't be fooled by UGA winning 10 games last year. We were a paper tiger. The only team we beat with a winning record was Georgia Southern...in overtime. There's a reason we were the first 10-win team in history to finish unranked. We were awful and he left the cupboard bare.

Richt was an elite coach from 2001-2005. He showed flashes after that: 2007 and 2012. But the truth is, his recruiting had dropped way off. Our OL this year, with his players, is horrendous. We have no wide receivers and have to start a freshman QB. Reading this board is almost a carbon copy of what was on the Dawgvent during his last several years.

You'll love Richt as a person. He's an awesome and genuinely good person; but he hasn't been fully invested in coaching since Kathryn got cancer years ago (and there were some other family issues as well). Football just isn't his top priority...and good for him, because I put my family ahead of my career, too. But I'm not paid $4 million a year. When you're paid that kind of money, you're being paid to put everything else on the backburner.

There was talk around Athens starting around 2013, from people close to him, that he was about a year away from retiring. Then we'd have a disappointing year and he'd decide to stick around another year. So after being forced out at UGA, I was shocked he took another job. I really think he took y'all's job out of spite for our AD...because the last few years, he looked completely beaten down, too. But spite, despite being out of character for Richt, won't fuel him long enough to be successful. He's washed up...and has been for about 4-5 years.

Here's a Georgia fan telling us the hard troof. We're not in the SEC and he's not trolling us. We might not like it but it's his read on Richt.

I actually think that if Richt operates as an administrator and hired an OC then we can achieve... Otherwise we're fûcked.

alot of other uga fans say something different. however, he scared me.

In the latter part of Richt's tenure at Gawja, there were a lot of people trying to have a say too. You can not put it all on him. In all honesty he's working with crap on the offensive side of the ball right now.

To me it looks like bamas recruiting has affected everyone they go anywhere n take whoeveer the fuq they want.....he should of won a title at uga. But in this case if he protects sfla **** win if he doesnt he wont

At this point, I don't think Geebus himself could turn the Miami Hurricanes football team back into a winning program. It's over, folks. If not forever....for a very long time. The administration is fully to blame for this mess. They've never given a **** about this program.

Kaaya plays like he has a dorito chip up his *** he's not trying to break.

You already know my ngah

Butch Davis

Richt looks worn out as ****. I think the same could happen with Butch. College coaching today is a ***** and 18 hour days.. Saban has 7 head coaches who do his dirty work. Most spend hours every day recruiting. It hink Butch could flop as well after being outside the game so long.

Im sure you were on here praising the admin for hiring Richt and opening up the check book.

My judgment of Richt will be how he handles the off season. He may have stated two months ago that he feels rejuvinated with calling plays.. but if he is an honest person he will see that he is not an OC. He gets high grades for the moves he madeon the defensive side. Miami has the best DL coach in the country and Diez seems very serviceable.

He needs an inventive OC (see Pitt) and things will change quick. Richt needs to fund raise and hang out in recruits mamas living-rooms.

Unfortunately, a lot of this rings uncomfortably true.

You guys are ridiculous with this Butch ****.

Get out of the past, man!

Butch leaving is why we are in the this boat the last 15 years. however, how he saved this program cant be forgotten

How'd he "save" this program, by recruiting a bunch of studs and then leaving them in the hands of the guy who started our downfall?

He then went on to ruin a stud-filled UNC program. (all while under-achieving at the same time)

It's hilarious to me that people want Butch, who was terrible while at UNC, but scoff at the idea of hiring Fedora. LOL

Butch is the past? So are all the other coaches we recently could have had. We are stuck with Richt and his hobo offense.

first off, i would take fedora but your kind of leaving a few things out.

Butch inherited a program under suspension that basically had a juco roster limit. they didnt even have enough guys to practice. he also recruited nationally to get kids because FSU was so strong they were locking florida up. he developed those studs. you are right tho, he wound up destroying what he built.

second, stud-filled unc? he didnt win big there but before he got there they were lucky to win 5 games. it was a mess for quite a few years. he then had them churning out a handful of NFL picks every year.

Your last sentence basically proved my point. A handful of NFL picks every year with no success to show for it.

He had studs on that UNC team. That's what Butch is good at, recruiting.

I'm starting to think that all you guys care about is recruiting and putting guys in the NFL. ***** that, I want someone who's innovative and forward thinking. A genius play-caller.
