Maybe if that win was late in the season. Perhaps when the CFP rankings start coming out weekly. Voters often have recency bias when it comes to production. Instead of looking at the total year they look for that "Heisman moment" late in the year from a player.

Nope. He would have to do more than beat Bama. Keep in mind, beating the hardest team on your schedule is never a guarantee for running the table nor having a bad performance.
