I don’t think Richt gets enough credit for what he did here RECENTLY. It kind of irks me to be honest. I feel like I have to remind folks every chance I get.
He had 2 seasons that were very fun to watch and he had kids buying in. He needed to make some coaching changes but his health was declining at that point.

The ND game was the most exciting environment miami has had in a long long long time. The program looked to be heading in the right direction.

I believe what derailed Richt was how truly AWFUL the OL program was top to bottom.

The Colbie Young point is interesting. He is evidence that this can work.

But it remains to be seen why it works for him and not for others.
I wouldn't say that. He's just standing out more than others. TVD threw for nearly 500 yards against UNC and Young was not a factor. Not sure he even got any snaps.

The offensive issues aren't the WRs. The problem has been the offensive line and our inability to run the football. It's why we have so many 4th and shorts and can't finish drives with rushing TDs.

I just wish Mario and Gattis would abandon the run in the redzone. We had trouble before. We're going to be even less successful with backups playing morr snaps due to injuries.

The UNC game is when Colbie Young emerged. He caught a TD and separated himself from the other WRs that game. So yeah, he was a factor.
I was incorrect in Colbie not being a factor in the UNC game.

Colbie had 3 recs for 43 yards against UNC. That was good for 6th in total yards amongst the WRs and 7th overall with Malory going over 100 yards and Skinner was right behind Colbie with 3 recs for 40 yards.

So, I don't get there being a problem with the other WRs.

TVD started going to young more against VT and then against Duke where he was throwing to Young even when he wasn't open. That's a bad habit that TVD has. He did it last year with Rambo. He gets away with it alot with his strong arm, but when you see film where he's forcing the ball, there are other WRs open.

Colbie is a talented WR and is likely the #1 WR now, but that doesn't mean we don't have capable WRs (see UNC game again).

Young does have a size and strength advantage his fellow WRs lack.

Yet another reason to just ignore the next couple of years. Wake me in 2025.

I think I got this figured out we are trying to become the temple of the acc so we can get booted out.we are almost there ****** attendance and ****** play we are not contributing anything to the conference

Compare the roster Richt inherited with the one Mario inherited.
we did that in another thread. we did the same **** were doing now when richt came in saying Goldens guys suck. they only look better now bc richt got them and coached them up.

repeat it here - this roster as it is is more than enough to not get blown out by MTSU and Duke at home. its more than enough to score more than 20 points on VT. this is a failure from a player standpoint to a coaching standpoint

I'm as optimistic as anyone, but I'm also objective.

This doesn't mean a **** thing. This is the author trying really, really hard (IMO, way too hard) to put a positive spin.

By this logic, if Mario and the WR coach (Gattis, right?) can get Colbie to play at a high level despite the fact that he's a JUCO transfer that was only here for a couple months before the season, then why doesn't that logic apply to every other player here too?
