and running for his life on almost every play.He was so much more talented than everybody on his team. He literally was carrying that entire offense.
Looks like WSU offensive line could not block anything all night. As soon as he got the ball he was running.
I haven’t prayed to god for something sports related since we beat UF in the epic OB COMEBACK! But please God let this guy stay healthy all season so we can make a real playoff push. Amen
Josh Kelly had a **** of a season last yearHe didn’t have much help from receivers or OL while at wash state
Ward vs Wisconsin (2023)
Ward vs Oregon St (2023)
Ward vs Arizona (2023) - but shows run plays too
Third thing that stands out - Washington scored on every bloody possession. Two things stand out. One he did not have his best game but that was two years ago and he looks to have improved last year even though they had a worse year record wise. Two good gracious he had zero help from those Wide outs. Them dudes got zero separation and zero speed or Washington just knew how to stop them because every pass was dropped or they couldn’t catch up with his passes
The Wisky game highlights Ward's pocket presence and ability to scramble when needed. If our OL does its job, Ward can have his best year yet.
Mario should just let Dawson do his thing. Run his offense, but also ask Cam what he likes and let it RIP.He was so much more talented than everybody on his team. He literally was carrying that entire offense.
I know Mario wants power run game ball control, but he gotta let the offense COOK. Pre-season hype is already there for the offense. Why not open it up and still have the backs to punish defense’s.I just hope Dawson doesn’t tailor the offense to anything like Arbuckle did. Let the kid throw the ball down the field. Wazzou played the entire game within 5 yards of the LOS. Gotta think Ward had the least air yards per attempt in the country. He’s plenty capable. Dawson gotta let the OL cook and let the receivers run pro concepts down the field.
It looked like a couple of those D linemen almost got in the backfield as soon ball got to his hands. Just watched most clip of it once. Did not have the stop watch out. Seemed like Van Dyke had a lot more time without going back to compare side by side. How many seconds and reads do you think a QB should get and get to?
I'm sure someone has a stat for air yards, I cant find it --but his yds/att at 7.7 was middle of the packI just hope Dawson doesn’t tailor the offense to anything like Arbuckle did. Nah man Ward typically had plenty of time to throw reads 1-2. Just not 3.It looked like a couple of those D linemen almost got in the backfield as soon ball got to his hands. QB's need the ball out in 1.8 to 2.2 seconds off the snap.It looked like a couple of those D linemen almost got in the backfield as soon ball got to his hands. Just watched most clip of it once. Ward has a really nice ceiling, but a low floor as well. Throws some absolute dimes, throws guys open... then follows it up by holding the ball for 4 seconds, throwing a hospital ball, or some back foot falling over ugly pick. Was actually only 7.4 last year vs FBS completion, which was 50th out of 100 qualified passers. Definition of average.
And even worse, he was 20th in the country with a 66.0% completion percentage. So he’s completing a high number of passes, and still isn’t getting many yards per attempt.
Washington State as a team was 89th in the country in yards per completion.
In what way, how bad his oline was?Go watch the Oregon game. It might open your eyes.
Or maybe it was the 438 yards passing he had. Can you name the last time we had a QB throw for that many yards. In what way, how bad his oline was?
