Every 1 loss team in top 20 made CFP

A ND QB making his first start on the road.
A USF team that sold out to win the week prior.
A UF team missing key defensive players and will have fired their corch by end of year.
An FSU team that was an onside kick recovery away from having a chance to walk off a win.

We better win out and win big because all of our wins be picked over with a fine tooth comb. We lost the luxury of just saying we won these previous games. This is why how you win and what you look like doing it matters.
These are all narratives that you invented here and are not part of the bigger picture playoff conversation.

It’s hard to win every week. This wasn’t ND losing to Northern Illinois. That L’Ville team is full of nfl talent and Jeff Brohm might be the most underrated coach in the country.

That was week 1 with ND on the road with a first time starter and all kinds of injuries, and still took us to the wire. Or so the argument will go.
It doesn’t matter we won the game and controlled it the entire time. SOS is supposedly going to be more important now if that’s the case we win out we are getting in

SOS is largely based on ranking. You’ll start to see the nonsense with 2 loss sec teams being moved into the top 10. Is not making the ACcCG will give them all the validation they need to keep us out

The real issue isn’t the record due to the loss, it’s the product on the field. You all not get this? Woopty doo to make the playoffs just to get your **** pushed in.
So why watch the rest of the games? Season is over already according to yall .

Nah. It’s a goal that means we are improving. Big picture here.

This isn’t a linear process over the long term with the landscape of today’s college football. You have to catch lightning in a bottle and ride it. Improving one year means nothing for next year.

I’ve invented nothing. When it comes down to picking a playoff team, these will be part of the discussion.

It’s like last year, when all was said and done and we **** ourselves in November they started looking at our wins. An overturned Hail Mary. A non targeting call. A fumble reversed vs UL that changed the game. It played a factor in why bama was above us. we don’t have the luxury of wearing an SEC patch on our jersey. Nobody is going to be elevating UL.

Good news is we built up a lot of goodwill to the season’s halfway point. You can argue about whether it’s deserved, but clearly the narrative has been we were one of the top 3 teams to this point.

That helps. But we used the mulligan. We have a chance for it to be treated as such if we handle business from here on out. You can only use the “great teams always have an off game” or blaming it on the tricky Friday night after a loss and tough rivalry stretch excuse once.

We’re still in the mix. Let’s see what transpires.

With Mario, you know it kind of is. I’m sure he’s got another one of these in him. You think he’ll finish strong? That what he’s known for? Dude couldn’t even make it until Halloween before ****ting the bed.

Make the playoffs for what? to get more embarrassed… dont worry we will find a way to lose another game, or 2

I think we have PTSD as Miami fans where the moment we lose a game we feel we shouldn’t we give up regardless of the coach and you’re right Mario hasn’t finished strong at Miami since he’s been here….me personally I think this season goes the way Beck goes, if he gets his **** together we’ll be in the playoffs.. if he has another night like this we won’t, it’s that simple to me …we lost last night cause he decided to do his best TVD impression

I hate the revisionist crap. Miami was supposed to beat this now vaunted, “nfl talented” Louisville team by 14…. Instead Louisville literally dominated Miami. If not for a fumble Miami loses by double digits. I watch a ton of college football, and Louisville isn’t as great as you all are trying to make them seem.

On this board, it’s always some narrative propaganda bull****… and no one uses their eyes. 4 out of the first 5 games there have been issues, and those issues have gotten worse game over game, not better.

The truth is we have two good wins. (and I mean that in the sense of what would the cfp look at). FSU isn’t a good team, UF isn’t good team, and Miami doesn’t play another “good” team the rest of the season. Miami is going to have win out and look dominant doing it, and hope other ACC teams lose, otherwise they’re on the outside looking in.

The Big and SEC are all but guaranteed 4-5 bids. That leaves the G5 and Big12 winner likely getting in along with the ACCCG winner. A 2 loss UGA, Bama , Tenn, Oregon, Ole Miss, and ND are getting in over a 1 loss Miami.

They’ll argue us not making the ACCCG invalidates our schedule even though we only have the 1 loss.
This just isn't reality. We're going to drop down to the 10-12 range. If we end up with one loss, we will finish 5th or 6th. They're not going to flip those two loss teams ahead of us in the last week when they don't play.
