He just got bodied by a 1st round WR who had a big size and likely speed advantage over him in the championship last yr. So people over reacted negatively imo. But is what it is, that was most important moment of season and he got killed on like 3 back shoulder 3rd downs ….


I think it’s abundantly clear he is far superior to Damari. He prob better than Lucas in terms of pure coverage. Wish Antoine was healthy.

I’d prob in terms of actual coverage say OJ > OConnor > Fitzgerald > Lucas or Antoine > Maybe Damari but I’d bet Waters is better by end of year or early next yr when Damari won’t be here …. Then other freshman…

As a falcons fan, i was worried about AJ terrell seeing how he got bodied by Jamarr chase in the natty that one year, turned out to be a nothing burger as he ended up being a great CB and draft pick.
 
Sometimes coaches get it wrong. How was #2 ever ahead of him? Like ever. Lucas has looked good but #24 is better in coverage. He could be better than OJ too. Nobody beats him, he just sometimes can't deal with big WR.

This is why we need to see Congdon and Cantwell out there.

But yeah we might have 3 NFL CB out there come playoffs.

When was #2 ahead of him? They don’t play the same position, he plays behind X and Brown is behind OJ.

Ask D$ who said Brown was ahead. Also according to Hetherman #2 was the 3rd CB in rotating behind X and OJ per his pre Stanford press conference
 
So happy he stuck around he really is making this injury bug couple weeks manageable in the DB room

He’s making himself some money though if he keeps this up
 
I get everyone’s frustration especially in the national championship but he was going against a first rounder and O’Connor was a soph last year. Would it have been different if OJ was healthy? Maybe, maybe not.

I’d personally like to give a **** you to @Kempo Cane who wanted him gone the drive before the int last weekend. Guy is a warrior and I’m glad he’s here.

Whoever told you this kid sucks doesn’t watch plays. He’s arguably our best corner staying in phase. Including all of em. He has some issues with physicality and feel for the ball in the air, but we’ll see how that shifts as he gets stronger and more reps. I rather play Safety next to a corner like this all day. Least you know the other team has to work low probabilities to beat you.
 
I question anybody's football knowledge that thought O'Connor couldn't play. He was excellent last year. He wasn't the reason we lost to Indy last year people just love a scapegoat. We made it to the Natty together and lost together. Indy was more disciplined that night and they won the game because of it.

I couldnt find it but I was happy when he said he gained 15 or 20 pounds in offseason to get stronger to get from the 170s to 193.. I might be misremembering exact weight but he really put in alot of work..
