ESPN's Miami Preview

better locker room chemistry

what the **** was with the locker room last year....

everyone seems to know something that we dont??

they don't know ****. only the bs our coaching staff feeds everyone to save their butts.

Actually that comes from the players more than the coaches. Multiple current players have made comments about how toxic the locker room became.

you noticed how our players parrot the coaches? yeah it's still the coaches feeding the nonsense and no crap it became toxic after the fact of losing so many games. the same thing would happen to this current group of guys if they go out there and stink it up

Of course that's what it is. Players who say what YOU believe, are telling it like it is, players who say different, are liars, or brainwashed, or just too stupid to know otherwise. Very convenient.

If we've truly made changes to our defensive scheme to better fit out talent, we could have a very good year. We have beasts all over the D-line. If we stick with that garbage scheme Golden and D have run forever, they will be packing their bags at the end of the year. I think it's as simple as that.

Again I ask: Why would coach golden make changes to a top 15 defense? If he does, will he EVER be expected to answer this question?

I actually believe that we will probably see the changes in the first two scrub games. But when Nebraska come to town, I have a feeling it'll be right back to that 2-gap read and react foolishness.

It's a shame Golden truly believes his scheme produced a top 15 defense.

He can BS all he wants about not feeling pressure - you know that guy knows the magnitude of this season on his future / career. I do believe that we'll see some changes for that reason alone.

I am prepared for a dismal season. I have not read a single upbeat preview for the Canes in 2015. I will be glad to see Golden and his buddy leave, but I know that another mediocre record will destroy the 2016 and probably the 2017 recruiting classes. That means another 4-5 years of being a weak team in a weak conference. I want to see the team climb back to the top of college football, which has to start with an significant improvement in 2015. If that means that Golden saves his job, then I'll take it.

this is why not firing FhAG last year was a devastating mistake by the Miami admin/BOT.

we are throwing away 2015 and throwing away a very important (and loaded) 2016 class. that will make 2 classes (2015 and 2016) back to back that are subpar at best.

that is a recipe for a horrible roster in a few years (a la 2007 and 2012). the next coach will have a decent roster to work with in 2016 (assuming no massive early departures), but will experience a tremendous talent dropoff in his 2nd year or so

sorry to hear that. my 5 year also lacks the ability to read between the lines.

why do people think that FhAG is all of a suddenly gonna change his philosophy (and character) after 25 years or so of coaching?

we will see the same soft defense as we've seen every year with FhAG. doesnt matter if its a 4-3 1 gap or 3-4 2 gap. his philosophy and character is soft and scared and we play like that

if the Canes can go 3-2 it would be a solid indicator Golden has the program headed in the right direction. Eight wins would be a solid season

It is such a dangerous time for this program. Expectations have been lowered to such an extremely pathetic level by casual fans and uninformed journalists.

Post of the year?
Yes

Yes

Certainly the most poignant, especially given that two of those eight wins would be against Bethune Cookman and FAU.

I've read a lot of articles in my life...but that first paragraph alone might be THE worst piece of literature I've ever wasted my time on.

That last sentence of the first paragraph is THE most inaccurate misguided sentence in the history of the espn website.

Any human being who looks at our schedule and doesn't call it anything other than pathetically easy doesn't know a **** thing about football and is a moron. I didn't even the read the rest of the article.....that sentence lost me.

If I am retained for the 2016 season, I will state that the guys have "REALLY" bought into the program. Remember, I only said the guys bought into the program for the 2015 season. Also, I will say that we're still getting used to wearing adidas uniforms.

Sincerely,

Al Golden

P.S. Remember Night Games and the Wind.......

^^This. When we played Cincy and UNC last year our defense looked fast and dominant. I believe it was J. Carter who said that Coach No'D let the "eat". Then we went back into our read and react bs and the rest is history.

"That improvement might not be reflected in the record because the schedule is brutal, which could leave Miami with a tough decision regarding Golden this fall".

The writers schedule comment is a steaming ****! Oh my how we have fallen. This years schedule should be a springboard to a decent bowl at the very least.

LMAO that they say we're only not bottom of the Corstal because we have Kaaya...weren't we "bottom of the Corstal" last season WITH Kaaya plus 7 NFL draft picks?

Fair assessment. The Nebraska game is huge. We'll know a lot after that. Win that game and I think we'll go 3-2 through that stretch.

"Miami could finish 5-7 and miss out on a bowl game....Golden could be let go."

Could be let got? Are you kidding me! If we win 9 games he better be gone, let alone 5. What the **** man.
How the **** is it hard to win here? We get better ******* recruits than all but a handful of schools in the country.
Win the ACC or get the **** out, so we can bring in someone that can. Winning the **** coastal isn't even hard, and we can't do that, yet that's Golden's goal.

you mean the same top 15 defense due to yards per game given up, but was bottom third in every other defensive statiscal category that enables a team to win games?

Remember a time when we didn't care about a schedule? It was any team, any place, any time...do you guys remember that? This is becoming sickening. Since when have UC, Nebraska, VT, and Clemson become hard teams to play? Since when have road games at a mediocre school become a potential upset for us? We have fallen so far from being the U that we now have to have MIAMI on the front of our jerseys and watch a b-ball school named Duke win the coastal. Let that breathe a bit.

I love how he said " yards don't matter, it's all about points". Then brags last year about the defense being top 15, but leaves out the scoring d ranking.

This piece of trash has no soul
