ESPN FPI has us favored in 10 of our 12 regular season games. The only two predicted losses are against FSU and ND. Knowing that we should've won the last two games against FSwho, but due to poor coaching, the result differed...we could easily win at least 10 regular season games this year.

Several posters predicted at least 10 wins this year and I guess the experts agree.

Too bad college football is unpredictable

Actually predicting 10 regular season wins might be a stretch at this juncture but that early Vegas line of 6.5 wins was a flat out insult to Richt.

Yea 6.5 is way too low. I think 9-3 or 10-2 is easily attainable. We have one of the best QBs in the nation.

That alone will make us dangerous in every game we play this season.

It's no stretch. It's legitimate. If we dont, its a failed season. We should not lose more than two regular season games. And if we do I'm going to be totally disappointed.

We should expect it. Got the schedule, roster, and staff. Get it done!

That's what up.. 10 wins + we beat FSU + We sign Jeudy, DJ Johnson, and McFarland...

Man, don't even want to imagine a 7-8 win run this year. Unhappiness at the pinnacle.

I would without a doubt take a 9 win season this year if one of those wins was against FSU, rather than win 10 and not beast FSU.

Everyone "expecting" 10 wins this year is an idiot. 10 wins this year would be a great season for us. Not saying we don't get 10, or that I don't think we get 10, I'm just saying, that that shouldn't be the expectation year 1.

Im fine with 8-4 this year long as we beat fsu and keep it close with nd. though i feel well upset notre dame

If Richt was taking over a crappy team, I wouldn't expect too much in year 1. But, he's taking over a talented team that under-performed due to crappy coaching. I'm expecting 9 regular season wins based on that. And, an upset of ND and/or FSU is not out of the question.

FSU-Notre Dammit-Carolina-Pitt games should settle where we finish...All four are loaded with FSU rated 2nd/5th in the nation...They just reload with better players than the ones who left...Carolina is a monster with a better QB than Williams who graduated, and a top 10 running back...

There is a very real possibility the Canes go 0-4 in October...very real possibility.

Thats doesnt mean they arent making progress, but we need to be realistic.

Saban or Meyer or Johnson couldnt fix the OL problems Richt is inheriting...no matter what scheme that is installed.

As fans we need to give Richt time to get his players in place over the next 2 seasons before the expectations of "10 wins or bust" mentality takes over.

There are certainly athletes left over from tje previous staff, but its not like Richt is taking over a program of the same caliber Coker took over.

Let's just be realistic and patient.

Go Canes!

Beat FSU and ND and I could care less about the rest.

I would happily take that along with a 7-8 win season (including a bowl win). But if we are good enough to beat FSU and ND, Imagine we would be good enough for a 10 win season.

Listen to The Franchise. I've been trying to tell you limp-wristed, low-expectation worms. Dudes on here wringing their tiny hands over **** like GT and VT. We even have sissies huddled in a corner shivering over App State.

Win 10 and the Coastal with a Heisman quality veteran QB and talent all over the field, or this season is a failure.

couldn't disagree more. We have the best QB and a lot of talent returning. I fully expect to beat the teams we are favored to beat on the strength of coaching and talent. I also expect to beat FSU at home after the last two years and them coming in our newly renovated house with a new QB. IF, Kaaya stays healthy, 10 games is the expectation.

There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't win the Coastal. Anything less is a huge failure. We have more talent AND better coaching than anyone in our weak division.
