Tyler Byrd is the #1 ATH for 2016, according to ESPN College Football Recruiting Schools - ESPN
Byrd was ranked #1 ATH in their previous rankings as well and well deserving of that rank.
Byrd held the #1 sparq score for class of 2016 for the state the last time he tested at Nike Combine. He didn't test this year though. He would have easily been at The Opening if he did.
Just goes to show how stupid the dummys handling the invites for the Opening are though...The Opening is broadcasted on ESPNU now..and the #1 athlete on ESPNs 2016 rankings isn't even invited. Lol. Would love for the analysts to snicker at that when it comes up on the ticker. Im sure to cover their a$$e$ and not make Nike look bad they will drop him out of the top 10 by then though. He will go from being the #1 athlete to the #1 6 on the board within a month.
This same very reason is why i dont take "Stars" seriously they can either play or they cant. some guys are superstars and other are just really good FB players. if we get a 2 star commit. im going to first look at film before i judge. if a 2 star kid can play. then its a good take for me similar to what Michigan did with Josh Metallus from Flanagan. im pretty sure i spelled his name wrong.
