ESPN Trashing Our Win...

Not sure about the knee, but the blocks were legit. There was one where the Duke player got hit in the back, but that was because he turned at the last moment. If I'm interpreting the rule correctly, if the opposing player turns his back at the last instance, it is not a penalty.

When the knee was down, the photo clearly shows the ball leaving the hand. Ergo, he did NOT have possession/control of the ball.

 
**** them. They didn't **** and moan when Notre Dame got tackled on the one and a half yardline and they called it a td and ruined our lives.

Yep...so close to being back. It took a miracle play in the last second to beat Duke, who we used to regularly beat by 30+. We're right there.

Thats BS. I'll admit that the knee down thing was close. I've watched it 10 times and based on the only angle available on TV, its impossible to tell definitively. BUT that part WAS reviewed by the refs who had access to all the other angles. They made their determination after video replay review. This is a non-issue.

RE: blocks in the back. The only block in the back that was legit was by #22 at around the 15 as Crawford was running across the field. All the other ones were clean.

But if they're going to ***** about the officiating, have them ***** about the 3 PI calls on Duke's las drive. AND there's no way in **** their QB crossed the plane of the goal line.

This^^^ The refs gave us one to Duke's five or six gifts.

Sehorn and Kevin Carter were trashing it just as much this morning. I don't mind them arguing the knee down (because it was close) and the 12th man running on, but i hate the fact as analysts that they are saying there were 3 clear clips. There wasn't! Call it like it is. There was 1 clip at the Miami 16 as Crawford was throwing the ball back. That was the only one that could have been called, eventhough it had no impact on the play since the ball was gone. The one up the sidelines was not a clip bc the tackler turned and ducked and the final hit was from the side. I just hate the bias.

Oh, and both guys refuse to talk about the horrendous officiating on the last Duke offensive drive that even game them the lead. Sehorn was a CB....how many times did he see 3 PIs in 5 plays?
 
This has a feeling that's the exact opposite of the bull**** OSU call. Clearly not the same stage, but because of the firing it's also not just a game. Hire the right guy now and this is the moment the football universe started swinging back in our direction.

Actually, ESPN doesn't want us dead. We draw great ratings when we are good and even sometimes when we're not so good.
 
These espn guys **** me the *** off. They are saying I don't want to hear irrefutable anymore use your common sense that tells u that u think his knee was down. So let's change the rules as long as it ***s with Miami. All they are trying to do is disprove it instead of giving it credit. And it can't be explained to them because they had a head ref come on to explain it to them and he still is arguing the point to the ref. The ref said that you cannot call a 12 man on the field penalty unless the player is participating in the play and this player ran on with his helmet off so it's unsportsmanlike. And this dumb ESPN guy is saying so you have to start the play as a player on the field to get a penalty it doesn't matter if you can finish the play as a player on the field to get a 12 man. And the ref is saying he was never a player his helmet was off he was celebrating its unsportsmanlike. They talked about it for about 10 minutes and not one person ever said it was a good play or anything all they said is that the refs missed 10 penalties and all the stupid stuff. The head ref said that there was one block in the back that could have been called on the entire play and it was on the Miami 14 yard line and the head ref said that they miss things like that all the time it's part of the game you've got 22 guys running around throwing the ball all over the field and 8 guys trying to watch it all. He said that the refs did not review the block in the back they decided to pick that up pre review

What the ****s at ESPN want is a punching bag. They want a "name" that they can regularly, and conveniently, rip apart. They lamented our demise because it's not nice to kick a dying dog. But give us some life and we're a suitable punching bag again.

Best thing that Canes fans can do is turn off ESPN, as much as possible, skip ABC, skip Disney, and their other properties. Just like the BOT, you have to hurt them in the wallet.
