ESPN Top 100 players 2022

I know much of this is based on projection. But does Arik Gilbert and Darnell Washington even have 50 catches and 5 TD's combined between their 3-4 seasons?

Mallory could def bump up a few spots just by staying healthy all year.

Staying healthy and catching the ball consistently.

Not many Canes on the list which may surprise some.

Why would it surprise some? We haven't gotten the same quality of players anymore.....u can see the results in the league. Recruit the monsters and this list will change eventually

It's crazy but people around here believe we are loaded with talent. That may be the case come April but as of today it's premature.

They always go off potential though.....numbers really don't say it all those kids can play. If the QB is on his *** or they run the ball alot it doesn't mean they aren't open. NFL scouts ain't really going to care they draft projection and numbers alot of the time don't show that. Same example of Yearby has more HS rushing yards then Cook but everyone with a brain saw the tape saw Cook was godly. When the game sped up one would struggle the other wouldn't

Not to flood CIS with too many ESPN articles. Todd Mcshay dropped his top draft eligible prospects at every position.

No other list had Miami players.
Aidan O’Connell is soooo underrated & Will Levis is soooo overrated IMO.

Idk if there’s something wrong with my eyes but I absolutely just do not see it when I watch Levis play. I understand why he’s getting so much preseason hype from NFL scouts because he’s the perfect Game Manager QB, but Idk I just don’t see anything spectacular at all when he plays, he just looks extremely average to me...

And that CB group is missing multiple names, but I wouldn’t expect for McShay to know that many anyway.

I don’t understand the Levis hype either. He just seems to have a QB2 ceiling as a pro?

the Anthony Richards stuff is just amazing.... are they magically basing stuff on his HS ability and potential?? and not based on ANY kind of ACTUAL CFB play????

I watched multiple Kentucky games last year & I just kept thinking, “This kid plays like Andy Dalton..”

I think what’s gotten him so much hype is the fact that he operated in Liam Coen’s Offense last year which is a Pro-style McVay Offense, which means he understands the verbiage & audibles etc, so scouts get really excited about that.

Also, a lot of Pro scouts actually prefer the boring bland formulaic robotic type QB’s over the wild improvisational Gun-slinger or the Athletics runners. They like QB’s who will run the Offense exactly the way the Coaches want as oppose to QB’s who may take more risks. He’s a Captain Checkdown IMO & for a lot of Scouts/GM’s/Coaches etc that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

But in terms of raw arm talent & decision making, Idk he looks regular AF to me lol

For Arik Gilbert it’s definitely justified, he’s a phenomenally talented TE/WR type with explosive playmaking ability.

The issue with him has just been getting his academics & personal life in order, but there’s no doubt he’s a NFL talent.

But for Darnell, he’s been an underutilized disappoint thus far. UGA has practically used him as a OT since he’s been there & Brock Bowers came in & completely eclipsed him as a TF.
I kind of figured that with Gilbert based off the small sample size. He def has already shown a few highlight reel catches. Interested to see what defenses do with him and Bowers one of them has a chance to really put up numbers

I watched a couple Kentucky games last year and I was shocked when their QB was showing up on these mock draft boards. I never really noticed the QB at all lol.

That’s the NFL though. The Giants took Daniel Jones 6 overall and he’s as ordinary as it gets. But, he played for Cutcliffe. Maybe that’s a Levis comp?
