I know he is on his 60s, hope all is good as the playoffs were starting in NBA soon, woulda thought would want to see that thru..

ESPN had dropped Marky Mark to 4th string on their NBA crews, which is even lower on the totem pole considering both NBC and Prime Video are getting a chunk of the action this season.

Maybe he looked ahead and saw a future of dreary Tuesday night MACtion games in front of 2,000 fans and an ESPNU audience made up mostly of degenerate gamblers trying to make back that rent money.

Really liked him. Then he got all caught up in the political nonsense. Stating he turned down a police escort to a game because he was scared they might shoot him was one of the dumbest things I've ever heard

Yeah, Jones was (is) very talented as PxP announcers go. And he always seemed to do his homework to where he could tell you interesting bits here and there.

Like a messy high school girl, he did play favorites, though. But I guess a lot of announcers do

Mark Jones started at ESPN and ABC in 1990 and is the fifth-longest tenured broadcaster still working for the network

Maybe Mark Jones has just made enough money and wants to not spend his days calling sports anymore?
There is something to be said for making a bunch of money and retiring and still being young enough to enjoy life.
