ATT stands for attempts. Yards /TD/ Interceptions and completions are all divided by attempts.

So yes, yards per attempt is in the formula and TVD was better. Not saying he is a better QB but it helped his passer rating.

No, it's not. The stat is not in there. There is an indirect link, but it is impacted by the use of a coefficiant on the yards, so you could shift everything in the model just by changing the coefficients.

And as I just pointed out, if you simply removed ONE incompletion from Cam Ward, he would be ahead of TVD on passer rating. Just ONE TIME he runs out of bounds instead of throwing the ball away. Ridiculous.

You can literally flip the differential between TVD and Cam Ward (with no real change to yards per completion) by removing ONE incompletion from Ward.

Yes. And when you look at the rating metric I posted, it's called a "passer rating", there is nothing in there that includes rushing yardage or rushing TDs. Which, as we all know, is a very relevant factor for dual-threat QBs.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but if Ward got credit for his rushing yards and TDs, he would definitely be ahead of TVD.

And I think we can all agree, the one stat that KILLED US with TVD last year was INTs. No matter how great everything else might have been, those 12 passes KILLED US last year.
I agree the passer rating alone does not tell the entire story of a QBs effectiveness. If that were the case then there were 6 QBs better than Caleb Williams last year.

On the flip side it cannot be completely dismissed either. Cam was rated #41 in the country last year and it played at least a small part in him receiving a low enough draft grade that he concluded it was in his best interest to play another year of college ball.

We all hope with a better-surrounding cast that those passer rating stats will improve for Cam.

If we incorporate the rushing stats of TVD and Cam into the Passer Rating Formula then Cam comes out ahead 153.36 to 146.97. Remember that sacks count against the rushing yards of a QB and these numbers reflect that.(TVD 16 rushing yds and 1 TD) (Cam 144 rushing yds and 8 TD)

Why do you keep saying attempts is not part of the formula when you yourself keep showing it as part of the formula?
