ESPN on Manny

Has done a tremendous job with the marketing ("The New Miami" rebranding), communications (creative use of Twitter) injecting new energy into the program and addressing issues on offense by his hires. All that has to translate to the field but no complaints thus far about Manny.

This is what a year 1 coaching buzz is

I remember when Richt started and we had little to no buzz. To be honest, the only buzz we had with Richt was due to the Turnover chain (created by Manny), and our defense (led by Manny) leading the 10-0 start last year

Thank go Richt retired because he was going to be the program killer

"But we just needed a couple things to turn, and I've got to give credit to some young men who went out there and committed to Miami. There will be more. We had a bad December, but we've been able to turn it around with a productive January. We also know no games are won in January. But we are at least showing we're addressing and we're fixing our issues, and ultimately, that's all you ever do."
Pretty great quote from Manny and spot on with what we are seeing from the staff right now.

Yes and no. He made the honorable decision to retire and left us in great shape with an IPF and his hire for DC. If anything he should be given some credit to have us in the position we are in now.

Positive article. No question Manny had brought a buzz back to Miami we haven't seen is years and I don't think any of us anticipated. He's off to a great start and brings us hope for the future.

Good article. ESPN desperately wishes we'd come back to relevance.
Agree because we are a cash cow ratings success for them. Always have been. We have multiple games in there top 10/5 highest rated programs ever.

Not the case at all. Hiring Richt was a big deal at the time. It was probably the first "big name" hire in Miami history. He's also the reason they finally built an indoor practice facility (another big deal at Miami).

His tenure went out with a whimper but the hiring of Mark Richt and subsequent willingness to spend money on the football program was a big deal for Miami football. It killed the nationwide perception that Miami was too cheap to care about contending again.
