ESPN New ACC Predictions

Game is in Chestnut Hill. Miami and FSU have both struggled there in the past. It's also the week after their game with us. I don't think anyone would be surprised to see BC beat them.

Oh, and yes, it is the Red Bandana game for them this year.

I was at our game in Boston last year and expected a better showing from their fans on Red Bandana night.

BC has always played us tough there especially late in season in the cold.

Me either. Shaq is tough, smart and a leader but he isn’t a spectacular linebacker. He’s very solid but he rarely makes any impact plays that alter a game.

Next season people are going to understand how good Shaq and Pinckney are when they see how much LB play regresses without them.

These are guys who non-Miami fans and national analysts have a ton of respect for, yet our fanbase weirdly undervalues them because they're not quite at the Vilma/DJ level.

Shaq's very likely the best LB in the conference this season, so it makes sense to have him as a potential DPOY

He might be the best linebacker in the conference but he doesn’t make enough big plays to be POY. You can forget Vilma level because he isn’t on Sean Spence level.

97 could win DPOY if he's allowed to attack
I think so too.

I don't know if its effort or coaching but he doesn't seem to go 100% all of the time. Its like he is sometimes a second too slow. Still see him finishing the year with 10+ sacks.

Through 41 games of his career Shaq has 11.5 sacks, 1 FF, 1FR, and 1int. He is solid but he doesn’t make enough plays

9-3? There is no way that we should not finish at least 10-2. If we get pass UNC, in which we have two weeks to prepare for, we have a month before we play our next ACC game on 10/05 and almost 2 months before we play a road ACC game on 10/26. We start the ACC stretch with 3 straight home games! It's been said many times, but this schedule is set up for us to have a great season.

The tell, will be how we come out against UNC. Normally, there is huge improvement in performance between games 1 and 2. If we handle UNC like we should, 10-2 should not just be doable, it should be at the very minimum, expected.

Based on his post practice interview today,I think they wanted him to read and react or watch the perimeter during this game.If he's allowed to cut loose, he will have 12 sacks this year in the Coastal.

They are seniors who have played majority of the snaps over the years so it would naturally make sense if there's a drop-off when they graduate. I think we'll miss their discipline, mostly because of the younger guys being out with injuries, and maturity the most.

I love Pinck and Shaq but as @Dutch said, they're not even on Spence or McCarthy's level. I actually think the love that they get from analysts often inflates our own fans' minds to believe that they're great LB's. For example, you saying that Shaq is the best LB in the conference while Isaiah Simmons from Clemson and Jordan Mack from UVA are viewed as better prospects than Shaq.
