ESPN GameDay vs. FOX Big Noon Kickoff

I've decided to mow and grill instead of watch these pregames. They hate us anyways.
 
I still watch Gameday, but I will say it is not get up and turn it on ASAP and catch all of it for me like before. Dez and Kirk are pros and will naturally show support to their alma mater they do an excellent job of not letting it interfere with their job and promote the idea of what is the overall benefit to college football if other teams are competing and not just the usual suspects.

As for Lee Corso, I loved him, he was a character and of course his mascot picks, and was an integral part of building this pregame show. But this has to stop, it feels inhumane what they are doing to him. I get it they are showing well earned respect to Lee, and Lee probably doesn’t want to step down, but this has the feel as if ESPN is holding his family hostage and will not release them unless he does the show. Ever since his stroke you could see him slipping right in front of you. It makes me feel sad for him and his family. I respect the strength that man has to want to continue and in some ways there is a dignity to that, but in another way they should have him step down in a dignified manner and with all the pomp and circumstance the man is owed and so richly deserves.

As for Pat? Honestly don’t like him and his schtick.
 
Win and they shall come. 20 years of putrid play + a 5-7 first season for Mario breeds this kind of stuff on college gameday. We have an opportunity - we need to use it to change perception.
 
I understand we suck and have been for 20 years, but the media and everything else is relentless towards the Canes. The media really likes to hold us down

Doesn’t help when your athletic department makes us look like even bigger fools with the BOGO and extremely high ticket prices.

I fell like the athletic department still needs a solid cleansing.

Would be very nice to change the narrative with a solid season.
 
Reverse psychology… Kirby has hyped us and we haven’t delivered. Now he’s going the opposite direction. Opposite results to follow

When we were good, I would agree about the media always ****ting on us. It was weak then.

We've been trash the past 17 years. What the media is saying now doesn't mean ****.
 
Been on Gameday for years of course have been hearing good things about Fox so I gave that a try today. Honestly, they both suck at this point outside of killing time before games. Tough to find content not built for “casuals”. We’re not really their target demo.

Spot on. It's a whole lotta fluff

Probably hate Big Noon Kickoff as much as GameDay if I started watching it on the regular.
 
I don’t think I’ve ever watched the FOX show. Gameday can be good but agree it’s time for Corso to retire. I’m a little surprised he’s back this year.

I don’t like Pat McAfee. Way too much bluster from a clown that was a punter.
 
Not a fan of the guy who took Bear’s spot. I hate that fridge/beer shtick.

I agree Corso should go out gracefully- he was more lucid and to the point today though.

Kirk has been one of the few pro-Miami national media guys for along time. Him saying our attendance stinks is 100% true. How we still had so many tickets available this week for this game is a bad look.

Him putting our admin to shame two years ago was a big catalyst for getting so much money back in the program and getting Mario here.

He can say what he wants about us and I have no issue.
 
Adding Pat was a miscalculation IMO and I’ve always been a fan of his. His energy is and schtick is normally fine, but it just gets annoying bc he doesn’t know enough. He’s much more knowledgeable and into the NFL. That’s where his connections are as well. He’s more suited for the MNF pregame/halftime crew.
 
Gameday started going downhill when they added that "Coming to Your City" song many years ago and I stopped watching a few years later. Big Noon Kickoff is a better viewing IMO but they only care about the FOX games.
