Thought this was a cool little spin on power rankings. Not your run-of-the-mill list based on public perception. The writer took a look at rosters and specifically how the program looks over the next 3 seasons (basically an emphasis on how stacked freshman and sophomore classes are).

Canes came in at #18.

Agree with the ranking, but not that for the defense. I think they will turn out better than 13th. Otherwise, a good view of where we are relative to last year’s 7-6 record. Potential is there in spades; Manolo and Co. have to reach down and pull all of it out. We do that and it’s the difference between a 8-4 type record or 11-2 and a major jump in the rankings.

Looking three years out with so many new coaching staffs is proof that the season can't get here fast enough.

UCF at 21 kills any credibility that has. They struggle to recruit at a high level so how can you base future performance on kids that are't playing yet?
They seem to have done alright recently with mediocre talent.

Which has zero to do with the topic at hand.
If you're basing potential on looking at the roster wouldn't you assume that a roster of three and four star kids would be better than a roster of two and three star kids?
