ESPN Coaching Hot Seat Report 10/12

Everyone saying we paid money to temple so we can do it again is omitting important info:

1) There was no buyout on our end, Richt retired
2) They paid Manny $2-3 million less than a new coach will cost and the new coach isn’t going sign some buyout friendly deal.
3) Manny retained the entire defensive staff. A new coach will likely want all his own guys.

There’s a big difference between a one time payment that netted out to about $3-$4 million when compared to Richt’s salary and all the points listed below.
My friend, u started off good & then u ended bad.

1. Is absolutely correct
2. Manny made $1m LESS than Richt
3. He retained the whole defensive staff, and got a, wait for it, WHOLE NEW OFFENSIVE STAFF, including paying $1 milllllllion for a OC that was canned the following yr.

So that reasoning is not going to fly.

The $2-$3 million is what he cost less than what some of the future coaches thrown around will cost, not what they paid Richt.
