ESPN Coaching Hot Seat Report 10/12

With all that negative info spewed in one article I feel like we're going to go in deep for the next hire. I think the money BS talk is just that. BS

Cause there is little evidence that’s true. I hope you’re right though cause I can’t take this crap anymore.

I don’t know why there’s still a debate about whether or not we have the money, we’ve literally always had the money, it’s just simply a matter of whether or not the BOT decided they wanted to spend it or not...

Miami’s issues are not a lack of finances, it’s a lack of willingness to spend & properly allocate funds into Football that has stifled us for the last 20 years. The people at the top have enough to transform our program overnight, they just don’t because they don’t feel like it...

IF Miami wanted to they could realistically pay a coach $6-8 mill a year, they just never felt it was necessary.

Blake James is addicted to the addreniline rush of poorly planned bad hires. He’s fienin for the next bad contract he can sign like

There’s a lot of sayings that can sum up the last 15-20 years, but “penny wise, pound foolish” may take the cake.

An insider article by Adam Rittenberg talked about Miami, LSU, USC, and VA Tech and Texas Tech.

Highlights

We might be in for a ****** year and a half:

- “Coaches who have faced the Hurricanes have described them as a bunch of talented parts without much cohesion or development.” 🤬
- “How realistic is a coaching change at Miami? It’s not as likely as some Miami fans might hope. The noise around Miami doesn’t always match up with the financial reality or the desire to go through a coaching transition.”
- “I think they’d like to move on if they can, an industry source said, but money is always a concern there.”
- Another source said “I don’t think they care enough to pay what it’s going to cost.”
- said we might go after guys like Billy Napier or Jamey Chadwell. No mention of Stoops or anyone else other than a few coordinators (but did say we will prob avoid a first time head coach).

Mario ain’t coming here:

- He said that his buyout is $9 million if he is hired before Jan 14, 2022. It goes down to $6.5 million after that but our admin isn’t gonna pony up for buying out Manuela, buying out Mario, and then paying Mario a minimum of $5 million plus.
- Said that the buyout would prohibit us from making a serious run and that even if he took a hometown discount the overall cost would be too high.
- he said LSU will go after him if he’s their #1 target and money will be no object. They swim in the deep end, we swim in the kiddie pool
- also mentioned Stoops for them (not for us) but said they likely won’t view him as a home run hire
- other names included Franklin, Fischer cause of LSU ties, Lane Kiffin, and even possibly Lincoln Riley

Concluding statement on Miami: “Ultimately, a lack of motivation to make a move, financial considerations, and a top candidate (Mario) who is likely not attainable mean Diaz will be fine for 2022. But he needs to show progress in the second half, beginning this week against UNC.”
Lies he doesn't survive the year book it

Why buyout mario when you can buyout whoever is a dc transitioning to hc at a g5 school with no hc experience

The money could be found within a couple days if the admin really cared. If Blake is still here I doubt anyone would pony up anything. He has to go or it’ll be Groundhog Day in a couple years.

I EILL SAY IT AGAIN DO NOT BUY **** FROM MIAMI UNTIL MANNY IS GONE. DO NOT RENEW UR SEASON TIX AND WHEN THEY CALL TELL THEM DO NOT DONATE DO NOTHING. IF THEY DONT CARE DO NOT GIVE MONEY **** THEM.

May I remind everyone that Miami, along with every other ACC member, receives over $30MM plus/year in TV revenues. That's Day 1 of each new fiscal calendar year. This excludes the obvious: ticket sales, merchandise, donations etc. Would love to see the income statement and balance sheet, but regardless, I bet my season tickets the Athletic Departments is in the BLACK ~ positive net income year-in and year-out....

So you have the, we don't care as we make money and what's a few wins or losses, we still make money. Or, you have the camp that says, we make money and we make much more if we deliver a great product.

I can high level it... $4m paid to Manny to pay Temple. This was effectively part of his salary, so the school grossed up the amount to cover taxes. That brings you up around $5.5-6. IRS has an excise tax of 21% on amounts paid by 501(c)(3)s to employees in excess of $1m, but he was already paid more than $1m from his salary. So 21% times $5.5-6 is another $1.15-1.25M or so. So high level estimate, you are somewhere between $6.5 to 7.2.
FOR MANNY ******* DIAZ!!!! SOME PIECE OF **** WHO WAS ALREADY ON STAFF!!!!! LITERALLY UNBELIEVABLE

The ACC should call Miami and threaten to throw them out for gross incompetence.
