Coaching ESPN article about Miami and IU reinventing the qb wheel

I’m not going to lie it would be nice… like a miracle if Mensah somehow decided he wanted to go for back to back national championships lol 😂! A man can dream right!

Not trying to be a smart ***, but what would make that so nice? Compared to what our situation has been for the last 3 years?

Our situation the last few years has worked out, but weve flown pretty **** close to the sun. Mario's landed some hail marys at the buzzer.

What i'm saying is it's nice to not have to ride that roller coaster every year.

I'm all for getting the best option every year at the QB position, and regardless of what Mario has said, I don't necessarily think we won't be QB shopping in the offseason. Nickel has looked good, but if someone is knocking at the door and wants to come, you dont say no.

Maybe we won't be as desperate this year to sign a guy the buzzer, we'll see.

QB's will definitely be knocking on the door. We pay extremely well; we have a friendly system; you're guaranteed one of the best O-lines in the country; we have an easy schedule; and we will always have ballers at the skill positions. It's a no-brainer

Agreed. But it would be nice to be able to get a guy for more than 1 year.

You cant have it both ways, lol.. We obviously want an proven experienced QB and that is usually in our criteria to lessen the chance of bad investment, its very difficult to have that AND multiple years available before being draft eligible (tho Mensah does have extra season).. You not gonna have both most of time, so which is more valuable

I think the cat is definitely out of bag and there will be multiple big time schools trying to shop in portal market, atleast more than usual. Will make for very competitive market. Will be interesting to see play out, but I imagine, we get Mensah to NYC, we will have interest even if we not in market
