And to be fair, the b1g coaches don’t do this , at least from what I’ve seen it’s only SEC coaches/fans/media.

Exactly. The precedent was already set last year when they allowed an undeserving Bama team in with 3 losses. Two of those losses being horrible, embarrassing losses with one of those losses to a team with a losing record.

Imagine an SEC team with 3 close losses and all those losses being to other teams with winning records. That team is getting in for sure. Texas was on the doorstep last year with 3 losses, two of them in embarrassing fashion. They finished #13 in the CFP rankings.
