Don't really care. WRs are a dime a dozen. Not sure I care about adding divas at the position.
how is hard to understand that a player would want to go to one of the top football programs in America to play WR and a place that lacks good WR's?It just baffles me how any half decent wide receiver let a lone a stud wr would even consider Florida... Ever. Wrs go there to die. It's a career killer for them.
I tried to look at this as "big picture" as possible. Any moron can compare stat-for-stat, but I tried to add context and look at the whole picture
Florida's leading receivers last 5 years:
-2012 Jordan Reed (45-559-3): Number 1 rated Prep QB in America Jeff Driskell throwing him the ball. Reed was a utility player btw. The WR with the best receiving was Quinton Dunbar with 36-383-4 TD...pretty much Clive Walford's production to compare it to Miami
-2011 Andre Debose (16-432-4): Brantly and Brissett split time as QB. The 2nd leading WR was a RB Chris Rainey. That year, with Jacory Harris as our QB and suspensions all over, we had Tommy Streeter (46-811-8), Travis Benjamin (41-609-3), Allen Hurns (31-415-4) as our receiving leaders. This year wasn't even a comparison and we had Jacory Harris as our QB...
-2010 Deonte Thompson (38-570-1): Brantley was again the QB. This year is especially interesting because this is the year that the wheels fell off for Randy. To continue with the comparisons, Laron "What the **** Happened To My Career" Byrd had 41-440-1 this year...Jacory and Stephen (a true freshman) split time this year. Hank also broke the record for season receiving with 72-1156-13 and TB3 had 43-743-3.
-2009 Riley Cooper (51-961-9): This is a very good year and easily the best in the last 5. Aaron Hernandez also did well and had over 800 yards this year, but he's a tight end. Hank had his break out this year and had 45-801-6. Our next best was TB3 with 29-501-4. Timmy was Florida's QB this year.
-2008 Percy Harvin (40-644-7): Probably the most talented player in the last 5 years put up decent numbers. Florida won the MNC this year and Timmy was again at the helm. The best WR for Florida this year was Louis Murphy with 38-655-7.
So what's the point of all this? Over the last 5 years, only Riley Cooper was the only true WR that put up good numbers. Even with the greatest QB in their history, no WR had a 50-1000-10 season and only one went over 800 yards (Cooper in '09). Since Muschamp showed up? Andre Debose is probably the best they've had there as far as production. For the most part, TEs and RBs are their leading receivers.
Miami, in a down time in our program, has produced one record breaking season (2010), 4 straight 800+ yard receivers (Hank X2, Streets and PD4) and had TWO WRS go over 500 yards receiving every year but 2008. We did all of this with a QB who threw like an 8th grader (2008-2011), a coaching change (2011), NCAA suspensions (2011) and we also don't have top 5 classes of QBs, OL and WRs every year. Our highest rated WR to produce was Streeter and he was ranked about 14th nationally at his position. Florida consistently does nothing with more at this position. That's why it doesn't make sense to go there.

If kids had the mentality that IHATETHISPLACE is sayin Lane might have, we'd have 5* DT lining up out the door.

You aslo have to recruit them well.

You are trying not to understand. You are naming a whole bunch of players that have nothing to do with Lane or Muschamp. Why would Lane care about those things? He doesnt give a **** about Chris Dunkley who cant even get playing time at USF. Why would Lane Care about Coxon who wanted to to play close to home?If kids had the mentality that IHATETHISPLACE is sayin Lane might have, we'd have 5* DT lining up out the door.

Lol, you HAVE recruiting them well and you still don't have good wide receiver play! That's the point of my post. Since 2009: Debose (5*), Stephen Alli (3*), Solomon Patton (4*), Chris Dunkley (4*), Quinton Dunbar (4*), Adrian Coxson (4*), JaJaun Story (4*), Javares McRoy (4*), Latroy Pittman (4*), Raphael Andrades (3*).
So I'm looking at this list and I see A LOT of highly recruited players. I also see Dunkley, Coxson, Story, and McRoy have all transferred. Why is that Gator? Why do none of these stud WRs have huge numbers with your 5 star QBs and blue chip Oline? They can't even stick around? Are they just terrible kids? Why were they brought in the first place then? This research took me 20 minutes to find. It's not just about the ability to play early. Florida needs WRs like we need DTs but it doesn't equate. If I'm Ermon Lane, I'm l can see that Florida is a WR morgue. This is probably what's happening to us on the d-line. In the recent history of your program, highly recruited receivers either transfer or do nothing. If I'm a WR recruit with above an 80 IQ I'm figuring that out pretty quick

You would ask Muschamp why have no big time WR's came out in the last few years he would say I didn't coach them or recruit them. Then he would list off all the reason why you should go to UF. Just like Al is doing for Miami's defense
You are probably right no way he goes to UF in the end. Getting emotional over an 17 year olds decision is ridiculous to me.Whatever. Lane isn't going to UF anyway. If you believe he is, you have a letdown coming. If he wants to go to the SEC, Alabama is a better choice.
If he wants to stay in state, his cousin coaches at Miami.

-Info is from Tim Watts, the recruiting guy for Alabama's 247 site
-QB commit David Cornwell is recruiting Lane
-Lane has made it clear he wants to be in the same class as a bigtime QB
-Lane's recruitment won't be over anytime soon with his OVs being the key
-While many people think Lane will end up in Miami, sources say it is an Alabama vs Florida battle for the S FL playmaker

If Barrow cant land his family in Lane, he needs to be let go. He earns his place through recruiting and not coaching.
Lane repeatedly calls him family. That is good enough for me. They arent blood related. To be family, you dont have to be blood related.
BARROW IS NOT ACTUALLY RELATED TO LANE
