Yep...I really want him to be a Miami Hurricane, but I'm not as concerned about our WR depth. We'll get ours. Once we clear the NCAA fiasco and have a really good season we should really take off - not that the staff has not done a great job considering the circumstances.

Yawn..... If he goes else where I will give ZERO ####'s. our WR depth is retarded and we'll get ours.

I want Lane to come to Miami as much as the next man. At the sametime If he does pick somewhere else I hope we don't have to read a bunch of threads from butthurt fans regarding Lane.

He fits the "MUST GET" bill just fine, but losing him won't be as painful as losing others in our past.

Lane is not at a position of need like Matt Thomas was. I honestly could care less if he signs with The U or not. As long as the staff brings in 2 WR's we will be good, Langham and Dixion will be more than enough.

I just have zero faith that "benefits" do not enter squarely into the equation the closer we move to signing day. This is no indictment on Lane personally, just a reality of the system. And because of that, I don't like our chances.

We have always lost some WRs and DBs to other schools. There are so many down here it hardly matters. Golden got Howard, Bush and Lewis and then backed it up with Carter, Burns and Coley the next year. Okay we missed on Collins but WE GOT DUKE. Duke is worth two years of recruits. We will get our WRs this year. Would be nice to take Lane from under Bama and the swamp scum like we did Coley from wide right u. Golden probably can't keep these guy completely out of SoFL, but I like the fact that he is getting in their backyards too. Bama put Julio Jones in the 1st round and these kids think they can do they same. Jones would have been 1st round pick out high school. Doesn't mean other Bama WRs will go first round. I think Lane stays home, but if he goes, good luck to him. Before he leaves Bama, he will see THE U take if rightful place at the top, probably over Bama's bleeding, dead body.

It just baffles me how any half decent wide receiver let a lone a stud wr would even consider Florida... Ever. Wrs go there to die. It's a career killer for them.

how is hard to understand that a player would want to go to one of the top football programs in America to play WR and a place that lacks good WR's?

And lane is an idiot if he doesn't think that kayya is a big time qb

I dont think Lane has said Kayya isnt a big time QB. When he was interviewed he said Kayya was a good QB. The other schools that are recruiting him also have big time QB's

Simple as this UM needs to keep recruiting, win 10 plus games and then tell Lane take it or leave it. If you sign great! If not then trust you will regret it

+1 but with lane it would be a battle even if it was the other way around. in every interview he says the same think thats why it amazes me the amount of "insider info" on him

I tried to look at this as "big picture" as possible. Any moron can compare stat-for-stat, but I tried to add context and look at the whole picture

Florida's leading receivers last 5 years:
-2012 Jordan Reed (45-559-3): Number 1 rated Prep QB in America Jeff Driskell throwing him the ball. Reed was a utility player btw. The WR with the best receiving was Quinton Dunbar with 36-383-4 TD...pretty much Clive Walford's production to compare it to Miami
-2011 Andre Debose (16-432-4): Brantly and Brissett split time as QB. The 2nd leading WR was a RB Chris Rainey. That year, with Jacory Harris as our QB and suspensions all over, we had Tommy Streeter (46-811-8), Travis Benjamin (41-609-3), Allen Hurns (31-415-4) as our receiving leaders. This year wasn't even a comparison and we had Jacory Harris as our QB...
-2010 Deonte Thompson (38-570-1): Brantley was again the QB. This year is especially interesting because this is the year that the wheels fell off for Randy. To continue with the comparisons, Laron "What the **** Happened To My Career" Byrd had 41-440-1 this year...Jacory and Stephen (a true freshman) split time this year. Hank also broke the record for season receiving with 72-1156-13 and TB3 had 43-743-3.
-2009 Riley Cooper (51-961-9): This is a very good year and easily the best in the last 5. Aaron Hernandez also did well and had over 800 yards this year, but he's a tight end. Hank had his break out this year and had 45-801-6. Our next best was TB3 with 29-501-4. Timmy was Florida's QB this year.
-2008 Percy Harvin (40-644-7): Probably the most talented player in the last 5 years put up decent numbers. Florida won the MNC this year and Timmy was again at the helm. The best WR for Florida this year was Louis Murphy with 38-655-7.

So what's the point of all this? Over the last 5 years, only Riley Cooper was the only true WR that put up good numbers. Even with the greatest QB in their history, no WR had a 50-1000-10 season and only one went over 800 yards (Cooper in '09). Since Muschamp showed up? Andre Debose is probably the best they've had there as far as production. For the most part, TEs and RBs are their leading receivers.

Miami, in a down time in our program, has produced one record breaking season (2010), 4 straight 800+ yard receivers (Hank X2, Streets and PD4) and had TWO WRS go over 500 yards receiving every year but 2008. We did all of this with a QB who threw like an 8th grader (2008-2011), a coaching change (2011), NCAA suspensions (2011) and we also don't have top 5 classes of QBs, OL and WRs every year. Our highest rated WR to produce was Streeter and he was ranked about 14th nationally at his position. Florida consistently does nothing with more at this position. That's why it doesn't make sense to go there.

It's hard to understand Becuz clearly the kids don't see the pattern of UF always lacks depth at receiver and never produce good ones except Percy harvin

Idk, if i were a WR whose game revolved around big play threat, i might want to go someplace where a frosh wr caught just one less TD than someplace whose quarterback only threw 12 touchdowns last year

Yeah but why would any kid look at stats from when the coaches were not there? What does Urban Meyers teams have to do with Muschamps team?

Muschamp has been at the school for two years coaching Wr's he did not recruit. Last year UF didnt even have a WR coach because Hill was sent packing. Lane went to practice he saw how good or bad in this case the WR's were.

Some of you dont get it because you dont want to get it. If I see a program that has everything but WR's and I believe in the coach I am going there. For these kids it is about where things are going and not living in the past.

I am not saying Lane should pick UF over Bama or Miami but to not understand why he would even think about going to UF is being hard headed
