2027 Erik "Tae" Walden Jr 4* WR from Collierville, TN (Collierville HS) Commits to Oregon

To me, he will be a better CB at the next level. Five star talent. Dad played LB in the NFL w/ the Chiefs, Dolphins, Colts, Packers, and Seahawks

His father played one year with Jason Taylor (2009), two years with Sam Shields, and a couple of years with Reggie Wayne, Phillip Dorsett, and Stephen Morris.

Clemson leads. His father played two years at MTSU under FSU’s current director of scouting.

247Sports has learned that in addition to trips to watch Oregon play, Walden is expected to watch a few other teams in action as well. Although the exact games aren't locked in yet, Walden is expected in Columbus to watch Ohio State play, Miami to watch the Hurricanes in action, and Oxford to watch Ole Miss host LSU on Sept. 19. Those are the games in the works for Walden and those in his circle.

TOM'S TAKE

Again, Oregon feels very good about this one. They fully expect Walden to stick with his pledge to the Ducks. That said, I do believe that the distance from home could eventually play a factor, and if he eventually landed somewhere in SEC country, I genuinely wouldn't be shocked. Those other visits will be interesting to watch. Can Oregon get him to pass on taking trips? Is he just going to check out some great college football games? All of that is yet to be determined. The other program to track closely is Tennessee, as the Volunteers have made it clear they will not stop recruiting him until pen hits paper. It'll be interesting to see how big of a factor Josh Heupel and his staff can become in the coming months.
