As a 'Cane alumnus and Giant fan, I'll say this, the criticism is heavy-- and deserved, though maybe overstated.
1) He is the most penalized Giant--- and theyre usually drive killers. Many away from the ball/play.
2) Saw a postgame where 2 former Giant OL (Deihl/O'Hara) termed him a "coach killer" and blamed his laziness and stubbornness on getting Pat Flaherty a long time OL NFL level asst coach fired b/c he couldn't "reach him." You don't see former players pile-on a kid like that unless theyre ****ed and have insight (e.g. ears on the scene from current players and coaches).
3) Has horrible hand placement and is slow in his footwork on pass rushes, and is not improving the way most rookie NFL OL position players do from year one to year two.
4) He is only starting b/c Giants are woefully thin at Oline-- if he has a future with the team its at RT-- he is not an NFL LT and has not lived up to the billing. Still making rookie mistakes. and is lazy.
5) He seldom has a good game, or stands out for the right reasons.
