Thank you for starting a thread on this. A few other aspiring high profile posters and I were discussing this very issue amongst ourselves and one of them asked, "Hey, has anyone asked Gocanes78 his opinion on this? 1,000,000,000% agree!!!! Pride is the very reason why Golden, Richt and now Manny failed. Honestly, Coker and Shannon never had it period, but the last 3 (even Manny) had/have the leadership qualities to make it work here, but pride got in the way.

I never understood the excitement. I was full of rage when he was hired, but 90% of our fans thought Macho Man Manny Diaz stole a great coach from Saban. He's not even a washed up coach, because he was never any good to begin with. ****, I'd bet he took the QB coach job at Bama knowing full well some dumb sucker would come along and "steal" him away and make him an OC. Boy did we have the right sucker for that job.

Saban’s OC at Alabama had three consecutive 1-11 seasons as head coach at an MWC team. He got a Power 5 HC job. Being an assistant for Saban can get you any job you desire.
