Enos says no to change

Serious question but I'll preface it with: Jarren is doing fine (great completions, yadda yadda yadda)

BUT I wonder how much of this is Enos saving face by sticking with under center at the detriment of the team. We were told that Enos would adjust the offense to whoever was the QB and play to their strengths. Williams is selected and Martell is screwed out of the job because he can't figure out playing under center vs. shotgun. From what I gather (jump in if I'm wrong) JW15 would also rather play out of the gun but has to make it work under center.

All this to say: Enos isn't adjusting crap to benefit the QB AND he won't switch to shotgun because then Tate would have a bone to pick since that's where he can shine (and lost a QB battle because it was probably presented to him that you have to play under center). So the answer is 'play better' since I'm not adjusting to what would work because I don't want to admit to my mistakes

actually your the dumb *** here. No I’m not messing with you but your dumb to the game. In the gun the QBs just about never take a proper drop therefore where they start is almost where they finish. The DE can take a more direct route to the QB. Want proof go look at the snaps at the end of the half. Go look at all of jarrens drops in the gun. He’s about a yard away from where he starts. Also jarrens timing is off in the gun except for RPOs. Go to the tape. When under center you do have better timing, the DE doesn’t know where your launch point is at, and oh by the way it kind of changes the angle the defense needs to take to the QB

We get it you’ve had your limits and you want a spread so anything enos does short of air raid ur going to cry like the baby back beokeback mountain type you truly are

Now go And cry like a brokeback in your next 100 posts because that’s what u r
Your the stupidest person on here and your comments about under center versus gun prove it. Lol Go sit back on your armchair and leave actually reality to those of us who played the game dumb@$$. Lmao also while your at it go back and watch the tape and the stats and see which one Jarren has a higher completion percentage at? I’ll ruin the surprise for you dip$hit, it’s in the gun because in the gun he can see the field immediately and get the ball out quick. But by all means keep going on with your novice remarks because we all need a laugh on here due to our offense being worse then last years! Smh

Wow in only 1 thread you’ve accused like 3 people of being the dumbest person on here.

You speak of **** you have no idea. But keep speaking out of ur *** bud. Good luck with all your brokeback crying and interwebz fun.

Under center snaps do not make it easier to sack the QB. Slow developing play action with poor protection schemes where your QB has his back to the defense for a second - that exposes the OL & QB to pressure.

Shotgun limits your options in the run game, provides a clear launch point for rushers to attack and forces the QB to drop his eyes to receive the snap, among other issues and limitations.

Again, there is no sound theory behind this CIS shotgun obsession. It's just ignorant fans wanting to copy offenses that they don't even understand, and reaching for a target to direct their vented frustrations.

It's widely being used with success by other teams with bad offensive lines.

I’m still undecided about him... but Dan Enos coaches 12 games a year, what possible excuse is there for him to skip a week of game planning?

Some of y’all are brushing right past that like it’s normal professional conduct to punt on 8% of his entire workload.

Did he say that?

Enos said under center you can see the secondary the entire time because your eyes are always up

In shotgun the safeties have a second to move and the QB has to put eyes down to get the snap

Thats great and works with a decent offensive line which we don’t have. So you have to adapt and the completion percentage doesn’t lie. He’s far more efficient out of the gun because it buys him a another second or two before the dline is right in his face.

Can anyone name a team outside of Wisconsin that runs a successful offense where the quarterback plays mainly under center? Because when I see the teams that are consistently among the leaders in total offense, scoring offense and pretty much every offensive metric, I don't see any.

You actually have more opportunities to scheme around bad OL with under center. You have way more options in the run game. You can use 3-step quick game throws and screens where the QB doesn't have to take his eyes off the defense. Shotgun is not a panacea.

My impression was He said there are advantages to both and that they’d continue to evaluate. I’m curious to see how it goes Saturday.

Right bc worrying about a safety moving a half a step while the QBs eyes are down to catch the ball is the KEY to success!!
