Not bad company to be in with UVA and Utah.
Utah is 31st in YPP and UVA is 82nd when looking at FBS competition.
Not exactly an exclusive group.

Our defense is giving up 6 yards per play against FBS competition -- that's worse than FSU. The order of operations on what needs to be fixed is Defense, ST, and then offense.
You can't just erase an entire quarter to prove your point. The defense gave up 17 points in 10 minutes, gave up countless 3rd and longs when we had UNC pinned back at their own 20 yard line, and of course gave up the 4th and 17 and ensuing TD. Also, let's count our lucky stars that the UNC receiver who torched Finley 1 on 1 with no safety support up top stumbled after catching his 30 yard reception. Otherwise he would've taken it the house and made the numbers look even more miserable.nah sorry, disagree. they gave up 2 long balls vs UF and got torched in 1 qtr vs UNC. that kills your averages. defense has been PLENTY good to win both games. plenty.
how about 4 turnovers vs UF and the offesne turning all 4 into 3 whole points? that's your problem and to place that blame on the defense more than the offense is absurd.

Blake Baker's idiotic scheme cost us the UNC game.
You have like 3 different arguments in this 1 thread about TOP. You think we should go faster and then you list a TOP graphic that has a bunch of LOSERS in the top 10. I heard all throughout the CMR's time here we needed more TOP, now that we have it we should be going faster.Utah is 31st in YPP and UVA is 82nd when looking at FBS competition.

OB, you are a shining light in an otherwise dark and dismal place, but I don't get your hate on TOP. If we continue with the exact same gameplan on offense but just manage to convert in the RZ, we're putting up 10-14 more points a game while keeping the opponent off the ball. Sounds like a great recipe for success.Utah is 31st in YPP and UVA is 82nd when looking at FBS competition.

No one should be thumping their chest at the TOP stat but at the same time no one should be degrading it. It's just a by-product of Enos's offense. Which, like was said earlier, is rolling between the 20's given how many first downs we have. The offense is working, now we're just one step away from putting it all together, being efficient in the RZ and finally having a legitimate offense.I don’t despise TOP. All I’ve said is it is not indicative in any way of offensive success. It’s a useless stat entirely. You are correct, EFFICIENCY on offense is what matters. How EFFICIENT are you when you do snap the ball? How efficient are you in the red zone? On 3rd down? I’d personally like to see Enos go a little faster simply because I feel it puts more pressure on the opposing defense. But if he wants to maintain this same pace as now but score TDs in the red zone, we’d be fine. Just thumping your chest about TOP when you’re not scoring points is about as antiquated as you can get.

Day and night from last year! Miami currently ranks 33rd in first downs. Richt's glorious tenure here saw us rank 83, 91, and 119th in first downs. The offense is working *between the 20s*. That’s a huge caveat. I can’t say an offense is working when you have 10 drives in 2 games that are 1st down inside your opponent’s 35 and they result in a combined 12 points. (And you lose both games by less than a TD). That’s incredibly poor.
BUT....I do agree it looks better than last year. I do agree we saw progression from week 1 to week 2. There are things to like. So you’re correct, it needs to come together in scoring range and we have GOT to be able to make a god**** kick once in a while.
We're 3 games into an entirely new offensive scheme and it is getting better every week in terms of execution.
Unfortunately we lost the first two games so everyone is out with pikes and no heads to stick yet.
we pull those out and despite all the mistakes and things that have gone against us, everyone would be saying we're ready to take on clemson
Just get me to 5 and 2 for Pitt Dan
5 home wins
Is that too much to ask???
bro the only game in question is UVA. VTech is fuggin trash and the other 2 are gimmies. UVA is coming in here ranked, possibly very high that place will have an ND '17 feel and it's gonna be fun
Night game at the OB with the season on the line.
No excuses.
Id like to see us come out fast and step on their ******* throat and end it by halftime.
UVA has Notre Dame two weeks before us then a bye.
Interesting.
We were still running those plays last week against Bethune Cookman. And unless OP went into a coma right after the UF game and is just waking up now "slow developing play action plays" is a moronic thing to say.
