Byrd and Homer reaffirmed they are strongly committed, and Jack Allison retweeted the Bruce quote about committing to the school not the coach.

The class should be in better shape than what Shannon left Golden.

Yeah , it'll beat the 3-4 guys we had when RS was canned. Good thing Al had his 40 commits by August

Always good to hear... I think majority see that with 7 drafted last year and the history of the program. The program is strong we just need the right hire.

Truthfully i would sacrifice any recruit in this year's class to get rid of golden so i don't care who decommits.

What needs to happen is that we get the next guy hired ASAP, even if Scott actually coaches the team for the rest of the season. The next coach can start building his staff, can start indirectly recruiting, and giving kids/parents/coaches an idea of who on the current staff is staying, and who he plans to bring in to replace guys he's kicking to the curb.

The key for all of us right now is not to get too high or low over a decommit or even a reaffirmed commitment. Let this all play out. If we get the right guy (which, who knows if we will), then all of this will take care of itself...and we'll still have a pretty **** good 2016 class, and the 2017-18 classes should just continue to get stocked with guys who can get excited about playing for the next HC, regardless of what relationships they build with Golden & Co.

To minimize the political BS, the easiest choice I believe all involved in the decision making process can agree to would be Schiano. Familiarity, Recruiting, coaching and administrative experience.

Yep, we knock Golden for a lot of things. But him building up such a large amount of commits during the summer was the best thing that could happen given this situation. Next coach will be in a much better position this time around for this recruiting cycle then what Golden got.

been trying to tell u, these kids were expecting and hoping for this. alot of other kids will consider us depending on our choice.

Things will be very quite till a new head coach is picked. Maybe one or two kids take a jump, but thats best case IMO

@_QUICK6: Really wish they didn't fire Al Golden. Dude gave a lot of players the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. Truly a genuine man of society!
