Emory Williams on ACCN Post Game

If you take the 2nd half as a stand-alone sample (when we finally loosened his leash a bit). He was what, around 77% completion rate for 120 1/0 TD/INT ratio. Against a very solid defense. I’m not really going to hold the first half all on him. He was executing the game plan. It just wasn’t working and Clemson was sitting on those screens.

Kudos to him and Dawson frankly for adjusting. He had a very nice 2nd half for his experience level and the position he was thrown into.

He was enjoying his moment from kickoff until OT ended. He was smiling and laughing even when he was struggling.
Liked what I saw and excited to see more growth. Were you a little surprised Jaccurri didn’t get any snaps?

The best part about it is those same people saying this are the same people (and probably first) to call for his head at the first bad game

I believe this kid will be good. His jitters were palpable and reminded me of TVD's first few games. Tentative with his passes and perhaps overthinking things just a bit. Really want to see what he does when he is more confident and comfortable.

Some have referenced a "wind-up" in his passing style. I have not seen it. Like his zip on the ball and think he has a pretty quick release. That said, his passes seem prone to being tipped at the line. Assume this can be fixed ?

Good game, kid.

Being as TVD was a game time decision I doubt EW got as many reps as he would have if the staff had known all week TVD was out.
You could see the difference in confidence in the kid the more the game went on.

Williams is gonna be a good QB and like 98% of all college QBs he just needs experience.

Emory played great given the parameters put around him given his first career collegiate start. Poised and didn’t seem like the moment was too big for him, especially when Dawson took the training wheels off in the 4th quarter.

He did a great job, but somebody needs to get him some media training fast because not every question can be called “a great question” It’s a tick

I'd bet they knew who was going to start all week and TVD was a longshot
