After Iowa State, it was abundantly clear we couldn't trust the keys to Emory. With another year developing under Dawson practicing against the best defense in college football, I expect he'll do fine at EKU, maybe even turn some heads. I hope he has an exceptional career, goes pro, and has a great NFL career as well.

The better our transfers out do, the easier it is for us to be the destination of choice for inbound commits regardless of depth of competition. "I'll go to Miami where the best of the best play, and if I lose my starting spot to the first pick of the draft, I can transfer, start elsewhere, and still be the second pick of the draft."
