Emory da Gawd

If I was a **** like most slobbering, non-ball knower slurpers on this board, I’d bump a LOT more posts for those that aggressively went to bat for him 👀

Actually “respected” posters that dragged their nuts for him 😭
People who get information from inside the building got duped on Emory, no doubt about it. You would not believe how much the staff supposedly liked him.

Now, Dawson didn't call me and say, "Lance, you've got to see Emory and here is why he's awesome."

So keep that in mind. I fell for it, sad to say.

Stuff like that happening makes a man cynical and less likely to take a word for it. Tommy Kennedy and Emory are two cases where my mind was telling me no...but my staff was telling me yes!

I was certainly not singling you out, nor had you in mind when writing this general jab at a few in particular - you are not only thoroughly respected on this board, but are transparent and analytical in your approach. Not just my words, but others on here I converse with in PMs share similar sentiments.

I am plenty wrong too at times. Lane Kiffin over Mario, prime example. Very happy to eat crow when we now have more data to analyze program builders, resource allocation, scheme adjustments after experiencing shortcomings or failures, off the field issues (jfc Lane, the stories I hear at work just get worse and worse), etc.

Plenty of other posters, however…no need to waste my breath on anymore. They’re in one ear, and out the other, even if they think their posts hold merit and substance, or get 75 reactions from sheep.

I look forward to your work and breakdowns whenever they pop up in threads.

I was there when it restarted.

They were a solid team under Coach Clark immediately.

Then Trent Dilfer happened.

Trent Dilfer was LITERALLY worse for UAB football than scuttling the program.
I had a kid that I coached in high school that played there. I think he was on that last team IIRC.
