His weight room numbers are ridiculous for a Jr in HS..whoever gets this kid and gets him to play like he lifts its a wrap..I dont have the exact numbers but I read on TOS

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Taylor squats 520 pounds.

Taylor dead lifts 600 pounds.

“I don’t know if he has to lift another weight in his life,” Moeller head coach John Rodenberg said. “He’s strong enough. He works hard in the weight room.”

The hard work has paid off.

Ranked by the 247Composite as the nation’s No. 15 defensive tackle in the class-of-2015, and the country’s No. 130 prospect overall, Taylor holds early offers from Illinois, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame and West Virginia among others.

“I think the biggest thing he did was work on his quickness and agility over the offseason which helped him a lot,” Rodenberg said. “Powers off the ball, he’s a very, very strong kid.”

Taylor helped the Fighting Crusaders win a state championship last fall and the team is sitting on an 8-1 record this season.

“He’s causing people to double team him which is allowing our Mid-American Conference recruit Chalmer Frueauf to have a monster year,” Rodenberg said. “He’s getting double teamed, he’s not getting pushed back. Matter of fact he’s pushing the double team back. I’m not sure if you look at the up-the-middle runs against Moeller High, I’m not sure people are averaging more than two-yards per carry.”

Taylor landed his offer from Notre Dame just over a week ago when he visited South Bend for the USC game.

“It really means a lot,” Taylor said. “I wasn’t really expected it as I went to the game. I was just expecting to see a great game with two great teams. That Notre Dame offer really affected me a lot. I got real emotional when they said it. I didn’t get to see Coach (Brian) Kelly but other than that it was a great day and great visit.”

The Irish immediately become one of the top schools to ultimately land Taylor’s services.

“Notre Dame I like it all,” he said. “Academically I think they’re a really good school. Athletically, football, I really like their defensive line and what they’ve been doing, and the coaching staff and everything.”

Two schools that have been in contact that Taylor would like to see an offer come from are Michigan and Ohio State.

“For both schools, I really think they’re really good athletically as a team,” Taylor said. “I like both of their coaching staffs. I got to meet the d-line coaches for both schools and I really like them a lot and they have good chemistry together.”

Georgia is a school Taylor is hoping to hear from.

Besides Notre Dame, Taylor has visited Indiana, Louisville and Ohio State this fall. This coming weekend he’ll be in East Lansing checking out Michigan State for the Michigan game.

If the offer to ND is committable, its a wrap Moeller is a ND pipeline as a midwest Catholic school.

I'm from Ohio and Moeller is constantly producing D1 Talent but it is an extremely tough to pull them from OSU or ND if they are elite. We got Gall most likely because we were his biggest offer and south beach attracts certain types of guys but if this kid is coveted by ND or OSU it's just about over.

Didn't ND get their HC from Moller years ago. You know the one JJ sent packing in that wonderful OB game where we beat the green off those fallen Catholics.

Faust was in over his head. He had a true pipeline in Moeller when he was coach, but that is not the case at this time. A glance at the current ND roster reveals 1 guy from Moeller (a backup QB).

I doubt it..he would of got other offers Miami just came at the right time. before my son leaves there he will be a big time recruit and he loves the U... He's a freshman he benches 235 squats 430 and deadlift 455.. Defensive tackle.
