Mos def. Thornton, chase, and toure need to come out during obvious passing downs if we got better guys behind them?? Making them disguise coverage just to run a mile to the other side of the field seems counterproductive for guys that are already suspect in coverage lol.

I wouldn't care if my dead grampa came up out the ground. I'd rather a corpse in coverage than those three

I can deal with a CB getting beat. Do I have high standards for Lucas and expect better, yes, but CBs get beat here and there.

But when Thornton came in and took him out, I was like wtf. It was such a bad attempt at a routine play.

This is why I said last year I'm not impressed by our corners as much as others are. But safety play is a factor and right now thorton being on the field is definitely not a positive factor. At this point he's just a short, light skinned version of amari. Takes bad angles constantly and it keeps costing us. I'm just curious now if we get healthy when it matters at the position have we seen enough to not put him out there anymore or not. Cause at least with JJ we know he's young and can hopefully learn from his mistakes. No upside in thorton like that though

I've been saying this lol.
Staff will not play other LBs though. And if they choose to play another LB it is/will be Marcelin. Who while I like what I've seen, he has the exact same limits.

It isn't sarcastic to say Toure might be/is the worst Pass defending LB in the P4. Not a fan of Chase Smith in that dept either, but hes just bottom 1/5th, not THE worst.... Thornton only useful as a blitzer. Nothing else. Doesn't wrap up, bad angles, lost in coverage.

Damari has been useless here his entire career except the ND game last yr.

No OJ is the major problem. OJ and OConnor would have been a top 5 CB duo in CFB. But hopefully Antione can come back soon. OR maybe they could get Waters some reps!

The lack of impact from Brown an Blount is alarming. Had high expectations for them.
