Actually, people in Oakland and the Berkeley area do not care about those teams, which is why the Warriors moved out of that area to San Francisco and they don’t care about the Raiders, which is why the Raiders moved to Las Vegas and they don’t care about the Oakland A’s, which is why the As moved out to. I will repeat it again, people in that part of this country do not give a fvck about sports because if they did, they wouldn’t have lost all their pro teams. Those are facts, not made up.
thats false, but go on.

I think it has more to do with franchises trying to choke the cities for free stadiums. Vegas $tepped up. Oakland did not. The Raiders have largely sucked the past 20 years or so as well and that doesn't help.

I see a LOT of SF hats in orange and black being worn when I'm in the Bay area.

All that said, your point is not without merit. I simply think there's more to it than JUST fan apathy.
Point being is this, if you’ve ever been to an Oakland, Raiders or Oakland A’s baseball game, you will see over half the stadium is empty. That’s as much proof as I need to know that people don’t really give a **** about sports in those areas. Now there could be a more play there and I’ll give you that but there just isn’t enough fan support in that area of this country to support pro teams. And with that said, a college team like Cal, which was my original point.

You’re wrong. Mark Davis, A’s owner, and Alameda county is/was poor. The Warriors moved like 20mins and the 49ers moved like an hour south - CLOSER to like Stanford lol
I’m not talking about teams in San Francisco sport, I’m talking about teams in Oakland, which is near Cal. The Raiders are gone, the Oakland A’s are gone, and the Warriors moved to San Francisco. So you can disagree all you want, but the facts are this, that part of this country had three Pro teams and they’re all gone now. Do with that as you will.

thats false, but go on.
Oh, it’s false that the Oakland Raiders and the Oakland A’s and the Golden State Warriors didn’t move out of Oakland? Holy moly, better tell the rest of the country that one sport and good luck with that! Lol

Sf and Oakland are all 100% the same area dude lmao. You simply cannot use the warriors as evidence whatsoever. And again 49ers are also still in same vicinity.

And again Mark Davis was THE POOREST owner in the NFL. Oakland had no money to support a new stadium - certainly not 2. They choose to try to keep A’s over Raiders cause there are so many more games. The A’s ownership has consistently been one of least spending in all of MLB which is why they had the famous moneyball team. This really isn’t that complicated. It’s not about fans not liking sports lmao, you are 100% wrong.

You want to say the fans in this area don’t care about COLLEGE SPORTS, sure. Pro sports? You’re wrong

Is Las Vegas where the Raiders and the As are the same area? Lol

You are making dog**** points.

So do Chicago fans not care about sports if bears move?

Do Missouri fans not care about sports because the rams moved? So Seattle fans not care about sports because the SuperSonics moved? Does this mean Vegas DOES care about sports and are loyal fans because they ADDED teams? Hmmm lmao

Cal Berkeley to the warriors stadium is shorter than Coral Gables to the Dolphins stadium. Guess South Florida doesn’t care about sports either. What’s distance from NYC to jets/giants? Lol

Oh really, so the Raiders and the Oakland A’s moving from Oakland to Las Vegas is a dog **** point?! lol OK sport, go ahead and continue on with your propaganda posting because that’s all it is. No one in Oakland gives a crap about sports, which is why they lost all their pro teams. You wanna lie to yourself and deny that, then by all means, carry on. SMH

They moved because of money. Their broke *** owners couldn’t pay for a new stadium themselves, and the county was also pretty broke and didn’t want to spend $2B building stadiums. This isn’t complicated. The area still has 3 major pro sports franchises - the 49ers, Warriors, and Giants. You are dumb if you think those three major sports franchises don’t count as “the Bay Area” which is where Cal and Stanford is. Like wtf is your argument that if an area doesn’t support 2 major nfl teams, 2 mlb teams, and an NBA team then it means they aren’t pro fans? How many us cities/metros meet those qualifications?

SF/Oakland/SanJose/Marin is ALL THE BAY AREA that would get included in Cals “area” and same for the pro teams and is the point you’re completely ignoring. Berkeley wouldn’t only pull from ******* Oakland lmao

They broke because no one went to the games! You know the supposed fan Support you claim they have in that area, didn’t show up for the games! Those are the facts no matter how much word salad do you wanna post on here? They were broke because no one showed up for the games which confirms my point, that people in that area, Don’t give a **** about sports. Because if they did, they would still have all three of their pro franchises. And I’ll also go further and say that no one in that area gives a crap about Cal sports, which was my original point.

he clearly has never been to the Bay Area or even knows there's a thing called South Bay (SC, SJ, PA) and East Bay (Oak, Berk, Walnut Creek), etc. and then you have Marin County over the bridge lol.

are the bears moving to hammond bc no one in Chicago likes the bears?

And Sonoma I’d still count too lol. Talking like 1.5hr drive. And the Kings are in Sac which to Marin is same distance. So from Marin there were 2 NFL, 2 CFB, 2 NBA, 2 MLB, 1 Hockey within <1.5hrs. Sac was trying to get the A’s and invest more in CFB.
But the Raiders and A’s didn’t move to Vega’s because they will have better fans and fan support lol. That would be a joke to actually believe. Will they make more money? Yes. Not because they have stronger fans

The Bay Area absolutely supports sports. Just not much COLLEGE sports. And I’d honestly say that’s because of the TYPE of schools Cal and Stanford are, and not just because they are in liberal west coast cities.

You know what man, if you wanna believe people in the Oakland area care about sports, even though all their professional teams left, then I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. Let me know when you’re interested sport? Maybe you’ll be about as interested as people in Oakland were to go to Oakland A’s baseball games. You know the 10 people in the stands.

Wake me up when you guys start talking brisket.

In other words, once the train starts wobbling off them tracks, I'll shove that burch right off them tracks. Maybe wake up @404Usernamenotfound as well and we can debate specific word usage vs commonly used word usage, being careful to claim the side that allows us to call the other person stupid via mentioning middle school.
