Effect of Gurvan out first half vs Clemson

They really need to think about getting Keontra and Gil on the field at the same time... I don’t think you can trust Balom right now to give Amari or Bubba a blow.

What I'm most confident about, is that Amari will probably get called for targeting in the first half but it get's overturned. Hopefully the Clemson player he hits doesn't get up until Hall returns in the second half.

Its huge.

Although Gurvan has not lived up to the hype, is range is huge for the defense. It helps limit big gainers. It allows Bolden to play more of the SS role and and cause havoc in the intermediary.

When Carter is in, they switch and/or adjust the coverages up a little to protect his lack of footspeed. Carter also tends to whiff too much in the open field whereas Hall puts his man down(even if he doesn't do it violently enough).

Would love to see a Cover 2 spy with someone always tasked to surfer dude.

I would suggest switching to 4-4 and forcing deep balls (how we were able to contain Tim Tebow), but surfer dude has too good an arm for that to work. He'd throw deep and try to pick on Ivey, who is feast or famine in terms of play.

I wouldn't go too crazy on safety blitzes either. We're gonna have to stay in that guys face the whole game to try to limit his ability.

And losing Hall is a big deal. If we keep it close by the half, shouldn't hurt us too bad.

Add 21 to occasional whiffs also! See louis and fsu games f4 proof.

He was bent over going for the body and the receiver lowered his head after the fact.
Exactly! That should have been reversed. His helmet was around the level of the receiver's hips. He was leading with his shoulder. Receiver dropped his head before contact. Not a dirty hit in any way.

He’s a big loss. He was playing good football when he got that bogus *** targeting call.

Nah, that was a dumb and DANGEROUS play on his part. Refs got that one right imho. Either one or both of them could've seriously hurt. Do not lead with with your head, period.
