So Manny's very own Chief of Staff was on an ESPN roundtable discussion with Andrea Aldelson taking a flame thrower to the current state of the program. I know some of you have illusions that he'll somehow survive another year but if this doesn't tell you what his future holds, I don't know what will.

You're speaking logic. UM hasn't been logical in its decisions when it came to the football team in the last 20 years.
Will it change going forward? Time will tell.

The university didn't fire their AD to retain Manny after a 6-7 win season (at best). The university isn't (supposedly) ponying up a substantial influx in cash flow to have Manny stay on another year. Maybe if Blake wasn't let go and/or we had a top recruiting class coming in, but none of that is reality at the moment.

Be careful about interjecting facts and reason into a CIS conversation.

What exactly has he been doing then?

If we're gonna get on Rumph and other former Canes who've flamed out when getting hired here, he should be held to the same standard. Legend or not
The whole thing has been a dog and pony show. We all love Ed but someone as savvy as him should have seen the bulls*it coming from a mile away. I'm all for former players being involved with the program but they need to be kept at arms length.

The best programs do a great job at keeping everyone in their lane because they have alphas in the AD's office and on their coaching staffs. Say what you want about the Gators and the Noles but do you see Danny Wuerffel or Charlie Ward getting into tizzies on ESPN? Former players that haven't been relevant in decades sitting around telling war stories does nothing but bring negative PR to the current program.

I’m no fan of Manny but he’s taking a lot of heat for the **** ups of many others
What?!?! He's been here 5 years. How is it not his fault our defense is among the worst in the nation? How does it not fall on him that we have no real talent at linebacker, that our defensive players don't know how to tackle, that we play so much zone coverage when our south florida DBs have been raised since pop warner to thrive in man-to-man coverage even against some of the best WRs in the nation? How does it not fault on him that we hired Penos in 2019? And don't get me started on the in-game ***-ups and clock mismanagement, or the lack of discipline.

Yeah that was rich. When I heard that I was like, wait, aren’t you the football Chief of Staff? If you’re not setting the standard, what exactly are you doing?
