ED REED??!!

The disrespect of bringing on arguably the greatest Cane player ever as anything other than a full time on field position coach would be insane.

I'm not against him coming to coach here if he were interested (yes I saw the tweet from a few months ago), but unfortunately there's no real spot for him. Only way we get Ed is if we fired one of the DB coaches, something I don't see Diaz doing.

Portsters be like "well we got an open hydration specialist position. Hit up Reed"

Waza matter you?

What has Ed Reed done off the football field?

You guys just think just because he's a HOF or AA he will be at that same level as a coach.

Look at how long it's taking Rumph to get up to speed? And he coached in HS before. Great players, don't always make great coaches. Vice-Versa as well. WTF did Belichick, Saban, Dabo, Jimmy Johnson etc. do as . player?

#2 Ed would wipe his HOF *** with Banda/ and or Rumph.....Just stop it....

Ed Reed over Banda. Come on my man. Banda has to kill it this year or else he’s out. Diaz would be a moron not to take Reed. He’d be a recruiting legend without lifting a finger. I know you agree but are waiting to see still with Manolo. I don’t blame you.

Where did I say I would take Banda over Reed??

The reason HOFers tend not to coach is because they're filthy rich and don't need to do ****. It's not because they never coached before and teams are scared off as a result. But if you get a dude like Ed Reed who wants to coach because he loves the school and loves the game, you make him a position coach. Period.

recruiting legend? lol what? wait till he gets trolled bagels cousin cream cheese and then talk about recruiting legend. tbh, i dont think ed wants to deal with the nonsense that is recruiting. its a year round job and doubt he wants to go through w it. nothing in his coaching career has shown that he has huge desire to be in coaching. he just kinda stopped after being let go in buffalo

You don’t think kids would want to be coached by a guy who just went into the HOF? You make some good points though. He has to really want it to deal with recruiting in the first place. It’s still going to me much easier for him vs a Patke or Banda.

Althought Hall of Fame type guys historically make awful coaches, Ed is a differ breed. IMO he is one of the most under appreciated all around athletes Miami has ever had. Dude was an accomplished triple jumper and javelin athlete as well as a guy who should have won the Thorpe. The dude lived in the film room and he is a technician as well. You have to have empathy because most of the kids you coach aren't even in your hemisphere as players compared to what you were. That being said he has all the characteristics of being an outstanding coach at the college or pro level.

As for recruiting, I guarantee you he'd get a visit from any athlete we wanted to see. His name alone would be a hit with the recruit's family.

Wasn’t aware Ed Reed was a coach.

Ed Reed has already served as Safety's and Defensive Backs Coach at Miami.

99-01

I will never understand why we don't build a bridge to facilitate this LEGEND to be involved in Miami's daily operations.

It's what this cat lives for. If U can't see that u haven't been looking.

Feel free to flame me, but this dude sets a standard in anything he's involved in. He makes waves without trying.
