Ed Reed

I would take him as a DB coach. Most good players can't be good coaches because they just had natural ability that you can't teach, but where Ed really shined was the mental aspect and knowing where the play is going by studying
Bill Belichick thinks Reed was the smartest defender he ever faced.

Bill Belichick thinks that.

Reed was also a leader, tireless competitor, and is a solid man from outside the 305, so he brings cred here and elsewhere, with parents and kids.

LOL he would make Banda look like a fool when it comes to teaching safeties. FOH.
No..he probaly wouldn’t..and your just basing that off he’s playing career..which is fine most ppl think falsely about that...you don’t have to be a great player to be able to teach the game.

Banda was a bartender

No s-hit great players don't automatically make great coaches, Sherlock. However, Banda is another overrated coach on the staff. Ed Reed is not someone who just got by with his talent. One of the smartest safeties to ever play the game, if not, the smartest. Let me guess, you were four years old when he played at the U?

If Ed Reed was hired as DB coach it would probably be on a Rex Ryan staff. Be careful what you wish for.

Most great players are the smartest of their generation..that’s what separates all greats..still doesn’t mean they can coach..you have to be able to teach and communicate..it’s why many really smart ppl make lousy academic teachers

I'd take Reed and Rumph coaching safeties and corners. We know Rumph can teach; Reed was a smart player with passion. I think it would translate.

Reed is more qualified than the whole D staff combined. I actually think Jaquan Johnson played with an extra fire and confidence in the Notre Dame game because of the week Ed spent with the boys...… YES!!!!!
