Ed Reed turned down Grambling HC job

Hbcus are increasingly unnecessary, all universities want to expand their number of African American students, so they are going after the same students but have more resources. And for the students it’s probably better to go to a traditional large university. Due to more resources , but also the need to be able to get along with people outside of ones own race. You have to be comfortable in a diverse environment if you want to succeed. Can’t stay in safe space
Dead wrong

IDK man, I think Reeds’ next gig is on the panel here….

“I’ve talked to Coach Harbaugh briefly at times, about things. I’m not a position coach, man. I can coach position but no,” Reed told Baltimore Beatdown. “It’s not a position that I want because for one, I’m working with guys that are probably younger than me. [They] haven’t played the game and just won’t even hear my voice [if I’m] put as a position coach. My voice won’t even be heard. So that’s why I tweeted about being a [defensive coordinator] or head coach. I know what I’m capable of, I know what I aspire for. You gotta know your worth. Like I said, I’ve been in the league around a lot of coaches and looking at some of these coaches get jobs who I’ve worked with. I mean, did you see the interview from the head coach in Philly? You know what I mean?”

The question wasn’t does Ed want to coach. The question is does he want to start at the bottom, like everyone else. His answer is no, clearly.

And that’s fine. His call.

But has anyone ever started as a HC or DC?

I think he wants to coach, but then again he doesn't want to.

What I mean by that is that he doesn't want to spend all the time it takes to be a collegiate coach at any level. You're always busy, working, and even when you think you're done the phone rings with another staff member, player, or recruit on the other end of the line.

It's a major commitment and does he really want that at this time? I don't think so as he seems comfortable in doing whatever Ed Reed wants when Ed Reed wants to.

Would he want to help mentor and guide these young men, **** yeah. He can do that now and turn it off when he wants or go wherever he wants at the drop of an idea.

Dead wrong
Lets see then. HBCUs did an excellent job at a time in which higher education was inaccesible to black people in this country. Now it’s a different landscape. In which one of the biggest issues for people is too much education, leaving them with high debt and little skills to show for it.

I get what he’s saying but you have to prove it. An NFL or premier college team isn’t going to make him a HC and I don’t see many that make him DC with no experience.

The Philly coaches are terrible so I get his point but I think they are ranking.

All minorities know that they have to be well rounded because seldom they are the majority in the work place or get the same opportunities their counterparts get. Studies have shown that minority students learn and succeed more when they are educated by minority teachers and professor. In fact, most African American doctors graduated from HBCUs. I suggest your do your homework before posting something random.

Not sure what games you watch but there were plenty of good HBCU football this year.
Man stop lying. The lineman are overweight and can't move, the WRs drop a **** ton of balls, and the QBs can't throw except for Sanders and the kid from Alabama A&M.

Even listening to the games are hard bc the analysts(atleast on ESPN) are horrible.

All minorities know that? Lmao your full of it. Tell that garbage to the "minority kids" in Baltimore Chicago LA etc that are taught by minority teachers and are failing at crazy high rates.

I'm a "minority" and my teachers/professors have been from every possible background imaginable and that didn't matter as long as they were good at explaining and teaching the material.

Your the type of person that likes to see things divided. I can tell from your comments. Keep reading your bogus confirmation bias studies buddy and continue to be regressive.
