Ed Reed on Showtime.....

Reed has been surprisingly effective on that show all season. Could lead to a career for him, if he wants it.

As others have posted, he still wants to play again. That topic has surfaced several times. His voice and facial expression are absolutely serious every time. Others on the panel have kidded him that it's simply not going to happen. In fact, on the pre-Christmas show two weeks ago Phil Simms dressed as Santa and gave out gifts to the other panel members. The gift to Ed Reed was a huge check like they hand to winners of golf tournaments. It was made out for 1 billion dollars. The gag was that it was enough for Reed to purchase an NFL franchise, "because that's the only way you're getting back into the league."

It was supposed to be a light moment. Reed didn't seem to appreciate it and looked a little bit hurt a few minutes later. I don't think he sensed how much he declined at the end. He was on fumes in that final playoff run two seasons ago, and admirably salvaged just enough to be a factor.

Ed and Al Blades should do a motivational techniques seminar together.

Really? negged

And deservedly so, a wise crack delivered without thinking... Pitiful - I'll get the alzheimer's test done this week. RIP Al Blades. When it comes to character, leadership and play, when I think of one I think of the other - yelling up a team in the hallway:
